247 is having formatting issues. Those two notes are back now.

- DJ Williams scored on a 5-yard touchdown run.
- Freshman offensive lineman Keiondre Jones is back
- Joey has run the last two possessions at quarterback, one with the first team and the latest with the second-team unit.

I’m not seeing any of that.

Weird. They posted that the defense was taking over and removed it. Then added those notes along with the previous notes about Gatewood taking snaps with 1s and the 20 yard Kam run

Practice outline:

After some early special teams work, they did 2-minute situations offensively.
Both quarterbacks rotated equally in the 2-minute drills.
another scrimmage about 84 plays (same as last week)
QBs rotated evenly again, but WRs had some drops.
Gus on the offense: "The offense really rebounded. We're starting to look like an Auburn offense."

Mixed notes from Ferg and others:

Auburn HC Gus Malzahn said WR Seth Williams has "done well this week" and the staff is "moving him around" to different spots at receiver.

Gus Malzahn says freshman tight end Tyler Fromm has been a useful tool for the offense, moving from tight end to H-back and even playing some receiver.

"Jay Jay Wilson is a guy that's stood out so far, just wanting the ball and attacking the ball." Zach Farrar is the same, he says.

Auburn HC Gus Malzahn said all the running backs scrimmaged today. Only one fumble from that group, but the back recovered it.

"First game, who are we going to trust?" Ball security has been Malzahn's biggest point of emphasis to that group this fall.

Wonder if Cord took 1/3 of the reps again.

Another injury:

T.D. Moultry has a protective brace on his right foot and wore an orange, non-contact jersey. He did not participate in the scrimmage.

Gatewood worked with Brahms on taking snaps after the scrimmage

Auburn HC Gus Malzahn said WR Matthew Hill is getting "most of the reps" with the first-team offense right now.

He said Hill made some "wow plays," but consistency is going to be the biggest thing for the redshirt freshman.

Sounds like the Offense made a big jump. That is good. I'm surprised at Miller getting 60 yards on any defense let alone ours. I guess that means blocking was good.

Joey Gatewood effect.

If this were to be true, I'm all for Gatewood to be the starter even if he isn't a more polished passer than Nix. We've seen what a Gus offense can do with that type of QB.

Receivers had to run sprints after practice. Left a lot of explosive plays on the field from drops.

May not be true, but Gatewood would open up holes being an inside and outside runner.
