Nick Marshall missed quite a few deep balls, and still took Auburn to the NC game.

It only takes connecting on 2-3 a game to be successful..

Part of our QB issues is Gus' teams don't always do a great job of putting away the opposing teams early. The stretch in 2016 might be the only exception when we destroyed the average SEC teams, but we didn't have a decent QB on the roster so it didn't matter that much.

Last year we should have been getting Gatewood snaps against MSU, UTk, USM, arkie, and Ole Miss...heck you can have a bad game or two, but we didn't really win/or lost any of those games in a manner where you could comfortably develop the back up...heck they were still trying to help Stidham get comfortable.

In 2017 we blasted about 4 or 5 SEC opponents and not once was Malik given any chance to do much other than misread the read option. Gus is always coaching for his job and because of that he can't afford to think about the future in the manner we wished he would.

From the Bunker message board on Rivals, OP supposedly has "insider info" and is credible but I mean you can take that with a grain of salt

quote:

I'll start with the bad, The receiver group has been a disappointment, partly because of health but mostly because no on is stepping up to to take hold of opportunities at the moment. Seth Williams has missed substantial practice time with "back issues" that may be caused by shoveling horse crap, if you get what I'm saying. Coaches expected the trio of Hill, McClain, and Canella to rise to the occasion, but they have not. Shedrick Jackson has supposedly been the most consistent. The OL isn't playing up the standard that a group returning 5 starters and four seniors should play to. Tega is legit hampered by a knee issue right now, the rest haven't held their own well against the 1s or 2s of AU's defense. The QB competition was supposed to be over by now, or damn close. However the two young bucks have had a week of inconsistencies. Joey G turned the ball over too much early last week and that resulted in Bo getting more work with 1's, Nix seems to be putting too much pressure on himself and trying to force footballs through coverage. Newkirk may be done for the entire season again. He's so big and twitchy that he puts an immense amount of pressure on his connective tissues, which are apparently a genetic weakness. His depth and ability on the interior DL is much needed this year, so that could be a bigger loss than most would consider. The shine: The RB room is very deep, and very talented. Caddy has also done a great job selling and implementing the RB 'platoon' idea. That will also help in recruiting! DJ Williams is back full speed and good to go, while Boobee is growing into what the staff had hoped for. Shivers is the x factor. He could be an impact guy with 12-15 touches a game. Joiner is doing a lot, right now, and showing that he does in fact have the ability to be a legit RB and the Swiss Army gadget CGM always seems to desire. Joiner-Cat will be a short yardage staple. My favorite guys on all staffs to talk to are the S&C guys, as they see kids more and know kids better than anyone else in the program. There is an infatuation with two defensive players. Nic Coe being the first and most obvious. 6'6 288, and of last assessment 4.6 in the 40, not to mention the length of an octopus and motor of a national championship wrestler. The second is Pappoe, and I quote "That m*****f***** is just a legit dog!" Has the speed of a legit safety, and elite LB physicality. Expect him to start and star from day 1! Daniel Thomas has had a stellar off season, and is believed to have improved in coverage tremendously and won't have to be subbed out in cover 0 situations, and should be a more complete defender in the run/pass game. Up until the last scrimmage Gatewood had frequently given the 1 defense some problems with his ability to extend plays (and thats with him playing tag). It's another reason I think he ultimately gets the nod week 1. Jay Jay Wilson is a player at H-Back, and gives AU the most athletic option they've had there in Gus's tenure, who is also an effective blocker. He could wind up being a YUGE get. Deuces.....TLDRFU

Yes I know. Well apart from Tega's knee possibly being an issue. Also curious if his quote about Seth "Shoveling horse shite" is legit and emblematic of off the field issues for him or if OP himself is shoveling said horse shite.

Yep. So injuries are a legit problem. WR's are inconsistent, this is becoming a theme with Kodi. Dude can recruit for sure, but seems like they all are struggling to take the next step once on campus outside of Seth.

I'm really excited to see what all the RB's can do this year though.

Can’t wait to watch him wreck shite.

The offensive line continues to sound like a lazy fricking mess.

Someone took existing notes and added some storyline to it. Then signed the post with “Deuces.....TLDRFU”

Did I miss something?

I wasn’t aware of NCM fighting his teammates or having a coke issue?

Do you mean just leave the program in general?
