You referenced Gus being paranoid - just pointing out that he’s not the only one who keeps the media in the dark.
Otherwise, yeah. I agree. Nobody but the coaches actually know.

I know. And so does everyone on the emails.

To go along with Jones’s earlier report, Nix was once again (3 or 4 practices in a row) first QB out for the pace drills
Justin Ferg on his article "Coincidence or Confirmation", said that Bo started 11 of the 12 drills today. The only one he didn't start was the quick screens to student managers. And on that drill Gatewood was being corrected on his mechanics by Dellingham.

Then it was time for Auburn’s pace period. Dillingham told Nix and Gatewood that the first one to line up outside would be the one to run with the first-team offense in 11-on-11 work. In a moment that might have been emblematic of the current competition, Nix already had a head start when Dillingham said that.

He’s definitely a coach’s son, teacher’s pet type of kid.

Tyrone Truesdell continues to work with first string defense at the vacant DT spot. He’s done well this camp. Coe could line up there some.
Boobie is practicing like he knows he’s first string and coaches are trying to push him They had Harold Joiner at first string yesterday. (IMO it’s incredibly hot out there, and business decisions are being made so nbd, but had a similar report in spring practice where Tega told him him to stop being lazy.)
Brandon continues to feel good about his prediction of Nix being named the starter.
Hastings returned to run routes and some position drills, but Stove remains out.
Farrar has been talked up by Noah, but there are some reports that his hands have been inconsistent in fall camp. Has yet to break out.
Frosh OL Justin Osborne continues to impress and could play this season as a backup at right guard. Jalil Irvin is also playing well.
Brodarious Hamm seems to be solidifying his spot as primary backup behind Jack Driscoll.
Aaryn Siposs has been incredibly accurate in ball placement throughout camp.
Injuries: In my own words....I counted up 13 (6 true freshmen plus others that are backups that don’t seem to be working their way up any time soon.) Coynis still has an injured shoulder,, and I don’t know the status there.
Practice today will be at 3pm.
Tomorrow: second scrimmage
Thursday: Off
Then three straight practices concluded by a session in Jordan Hare to end fall camp. Fall semester begins Monday.

Yeah that’s it. The 2 “concerning injuries” are Stove and MAR (he just had surgery so that’s kinda duh. )
MAR shouldn’t be out all season but a redshirt candidate.
The “turn at QB” is Marcello feels like he heard plenty from sources to feel good about his prediction that Bo will start.
Clickbait really.

What I expected. I was wondering if there actually was any news on the QB front, but no...
It sure seems like these writers are wanting Nix over Gatewood...
Either Gus is playing chess while everyone else plays checkers or it's looking like Nix has taken over this competition.
I sure hope not. I really want JoeyG to run our offense. His size is just that much of a difference maker, and (in my opinion) they have taken away Joey's biggest strength by not going live at all during camp
But I'll support whoever wins the job.

Same.
QB-WR chemistry continues to be my biggest mystery:
-Seth has been limited a lot because of a back issue.
-Hastings and Stove has been out a lot.
-Hill...nothing really being reported out there except from what players say. He will probably be backup option at punt returner
-Farrar- inconsistent hands
- Both true freshman receivers are hurt
-Shedrick Jackson has been dealing with a concussion.
Run the got dang ball with Joey.

This is the only thing that has really concerned me so far this offseason. We are getting hit hard by injuries. The Coynis one could hurt bad if he is out any extended amount of time. DT is not an area we can afford to lose bodies.

So Nix appreantly is above Gatewood ATM. Wonder if he just has more talent, or is better prepped? I have seem him live, and he has a monster arm. I just felt like he needed to add bulk for college. Has he grown any?
Posted on 8/13/19 at 9:01 am to AUCE05
He is as big or bigger than NM was

Nix is 210. Stidham is on the patriots roster at 215

The point is nobody knows who the starting QB is just because one starts drills with the press there.
