I’m not saying Nix sucks. I’m saying Gus won’t tinker the offense according to Nix’s strengths because of his own fears.

And I may be wrong. Won’t be the first time.

I have been on the Gatewood train. However, Nix wasn't recruited to ride the pine. So I won't be surprised to see him play.

yea but what has been the most successful for him?

Not passing offense

Run the ball and have a athletic QB that can do the same.

We're definitely going to need all the help we can get at DT.

We don’t have a legitimate pass rusher. Moultry is kinda slow. Jibunour could’ve been that guy but he’s gone. We need a speed rusher.

I want whoever is going to give the best chance to win a championship. Am I pulling for Joey? You damn right. But if Nix wins the job, then he’s special. Because Joey is damn good.

Now go pop a Viagra, and worry about your old lady and not me.

TD has been wrecking shite supposedly. Coe is a beast. Jibunor would have been a great reserve at best this season.

Has there been enough full contact drills to know this?

I hope so, all the talk of how great our DL will be has concerned me because we do appear to be missing a true speed rush threat.

If you go back and look over Gus' entire Coaching history, I would say he hs been very successful with both passing QBs and running QBs. If Nix is the starter, that means he has balled out to win the job, and if our running game can get going I think it will be deadly with the weapons we have an Nix at the helm. Same with JG

However at Auburn he has only had next level success with running QB's...even in 2017 Stidham's success is easily traced to KJ's ability to play healthy. Man, I'd love for Bo to be the guy, but I can't figure out how Gus would use him with his system that honestly tends to not recruit OL well because fairly or not he's been labeled as not preparing them for the next level...generally.

Wait, what does KJ have to do with a non running QB having success?

2013 doesn’t work either if Tre Mason is injured late and for as much as we point to the success of 2013 we rarely talk about 2014 with the same QB.

Anyway, none of us know anything about these QBs still. Gatewood’s meaningless snaps in the final minute of a historic blowout tell us nothing. And the other guy was the quarterback for Pinson, AL 8 months ago. Let’s see how this plays out before we take wins off the board based on who starts

I’ve seen it on Al.com.

BM reported that Hastings rested yesterday, and that the staff plans to give both Hastings and Stove rest whenever their legs are sore, but Marcello never reported a Stove injury.

i mean...

you know AU led the SEC in scoring vs conference opponents in 2017 (2nd in ypg)?

finished second in the SEC in scoring vs top 25 teams in 2017 (3rd in ypg)?

Kerryon carried the team in 2017.

The 2018 team with the same QB, same unimaginative passing offense, and different RBs looked dysfunctional from the start.

Thats all fine and dandy but Stidham and the passing game was not our main weapon. KJ was. And when he went down, the season was over.

The other two times we had running QB's, we went to the National Championship and basically had unstoppable offenses. The only thing that kept us from having two gold buckles is a shite defense in 2013.

He did good with Stidham but results wise, running Qb's have been better for him.
