So who has performed better than Shivers so far this camp?

Good question. We have heard all kinds of crap on this board.

Translation, nobody here, knows shite.

So, as usual, you’re just spewing baseless knowledge again. Par for the course.

So we don't have tape on Shivers on which to base an opinion?

Exactly. Which is my point.

I know Gus held Shivers out much of last practice to let others battle for their positioning..

Why are you the way that you are?

Because he hasn’t come out of the closet yet and has an inner rage living a lie that he loves women. He wants a divorce and be with Jorge, a local botanist.

When you understand that, you gain a compassion for brannigan and hold back on bashing him for lame thoughts and opinions he throws out here.

Edwards Helaire says wasssuuuupppp!

Shivers is nothing like Edwards Helaire.

As a poster made note..Shivers goes down pretty easy, doesn't have enough inside game to power over DTs and LBs.

He does bring energy and speed, so I hope they can meld his talents with Morris' offense.

But Healaire was a first round pick. Shivers will not be. But I'm not asking him to.

I just want a solid backfield that can move the chains.

Not to sound like Brannigan, but one play doesn’t change the fact that he’s gone down very easily on a lot of plays.

And he may or may not have improved any. However, there have been plenty of reports that he has made big improvements this offseason.

I don’t think anyone is expecting him to carry the ball 20 times a game. Just pointing out the absurdity of the opinion that Gus is playing favorites based literally on no information of what has happened during practice.

I like Shivers and defended him during the recruiting cycle as a worthy RB for Auburn but I’m skeptical that he’s a 3 down back.

Interested to see how this goes

He's not a between the tackles RB. He is a get him in space and let his quickness take over type RB. I am glad he is on our side.

He should have a role.

Kid is fast and a good teammate.

That run versus Bama will be on our video board pregame in 25 years.

This tells me all I need to know as far as favorite or front runner goes:

In Saturday’s third scrimmage of the preseason, Shivers mostly watched from the sidelines as running backs coach Cadillac Williams rotated in the other four tailbacks as they compete for a spot in the playing rotation.

Caddy is going to play all of them. Shivers already has experience so they're giving the others more reps. I don't read anything more into it.

100% agree and it sounds like Morris is putting a lot of effort into utilizing the RBs in the passing game to get them in space.

A week ago, you guys were posting about how great our depth was. Best ever. Now Shivers is the #1 back.

That is bad. Very bad. I don’t think he is the #1 back and won’t be. He is and always has been a gimmick back. If DJ does not step up and play much better than he did last year, one of the other guys will take that #1 position.
