Not a big surprise. Is there a consensus on why Holden hasn't been what was expected?

Hugh said it was very close between Hank and Holden and that he would feel good if Holden had to go into the game.

I'm sure he did but a 4* going into his third season, without entering the portal, is unusual. If it's medical, or mental, that's understandable and happens, but, if not, why does he not transfer?

I'm really not trying to speculate, I'm just not understanding his Auburn career.

From what I've read the difference is Hank is more aggressive so if Thorne is struggling and we need to go to the bench you want more of a gunslinger especially if our wrs are what we hope they are

We're in an era where this is an unusual reason for kids to stay put

I listened to one of the podcasters talking to Hugh about QBs and he said....We try and put them in a situation where we can succeed against a given defense, but sometimes we snap the ball and the look is totally different and little chance of success with what we called...THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT, than getting rid of it, no good can happen at that point.

That doesnt sound like a gunslinger mentality.

We will see who gets the nod, but I just have the feeling Geriner has a better mental grasp of what it takes to execute the offense.....and he sure throws a purdy ball

Holden has a big arm, but he has no idea where it’s going when he throws it. He’s basically Finley 2.0. I’ll be surprised if he’s not 4th string behind White. I think Freeze wants to get Walker his 4 games of experience this season and then redshirt if possible.

I chose poorly

So written so done. I hope he gets a lot of playing time this year.

Last year Thorne was trying to learn the system so we could not afford to let the backups take snaps, hopefully its different in some of these early games if its a blowout.

Seems like CHF is trying to temper expectations- seems like the “feeling” is that we’re going to better but that may not translate in the W column.

I've not gotten that sense from him at all.

Anyways, here is the offensive depth chart according to Bryan Matthews. he does have the switch of Wade and Lewis. That is a really odd one to me this far into camp. Frankly, has Lewis ever even played guard? May just ben an experiment, who knows.

I thought the move was Percy Lewis to right tackle, maybe putting Wade back at left tackle and then putting one of several potential players at left guard?

Izavion struggled at times last year with pass protection. Maybe it became apparent late in the process with the live scrimmages going up against Faulk and Amaris Williams?

Lewis talked about taking some reps at RT some too, but this is a different shuffle. This is moving him to LG and moving Wade from RG to LT.

Its not that baffling...

Big Percy is TOO BIG to be a LT anyway. 355 lbs is G/RT size.

The top 5 LT's in the NFL, average weight is about 315. Penei Sewell is the biggest at 324. He's not quick enough at that size to be a LT
