It’ll be refreshing watching young players who has the potential to develop into solid players throughout the course of the season

MCT, hope you are well. I’ve got 2 and both playing sports.

How are your kids and life in general?

I suspect we will really struggle early and flat out look bad at times, but by the end of the year we are a team that could be in the talks for the tourney and a team that higher seeds don't want to draw.

This is correct.

You don’t want to play a team (coached by Bruce Pearl) full of young and talented players with an excellent point guard - after 15-18 games of figuring out his rotation.

We will be a very difficult 9-10 seed that no one wants to play.

Pearl is such a great evaluator and developer of talent and I’m hoping he’s sandbagging a bit with this talk about being middle of the SEC. I’m hoping that Powell, Cardwell, and Moore were all underrated as has been hinted at and that we are in the upper 1/3 of the SEC.

I don't think he is sandbagging.

With a lot of teams returning good starters(Alabama, TaM, etc..) he knows JUST based on talent we are middle of the pack, bc the one thing we lack the others don't is experience.

To make the NCAAs, we can't have long losing streaks. If we can bounce back from losses, then we have a chance to be on the bubble near the end of the year.

THat is what I hope to see from us. The experience card is so critical in SEC basketball.

Can't complain. Daughter is finishing up her So year at UAH and my boys are 15 and 13 so I'm getting close to the finish line.

I think it's time to dust off the RB power rankings again. I always got a kick out of some of the reactions to the committee's decisions

1 - Cooper/Powell
2 - Flanigan/Turbo/Johnson
3- Cambridge/Moore
4 - Williams/Thor
5 - Stretch/Cardwell

Johnson has probably been our most improved player since last season and will be a main contributor, if not a starter. No way is he third at his primary position. We’ll need his shot making, as he is one of the best, if not the best pure shooter on the team along with Powell.

Moore is at the 3 for now

I think his ultimate potential is at the 3 but he isn’t there yet, due to his skill set at the moment. Cambridge and Flanigan will get the majority of minutes at the 3. Moore is a mismatch. He is a bully on the block, a banger and a force on the glass. At this point in time, he helps us more the closer he is to the basket offensively. He isn’t a developed wing just yet. He needs to improve his outside shot and ball handling to become a true wing player. His defensive ability is farther along, as he can guard multiple positions(2-4) with his build and quickness but he’ll have to work on moving his feet on the perimeter. He reminds me a lot of Isaac Okoro.. maybe not quite as far along yet but better in the post and not quite there yet on the perimeter.
