1. He couldn't
2. He would have left as soon as Richt left so we would have had him a couple of years tops (and he wouldn't have won the SEC and gone to the natty in that time frame like Gus managed to).
3. Wouldn't want that tool anyway.

Would we get the same thUGA boosters that have been paying out the arse for players way before NIL? Otherwise, he wouldn’t have done shite.

The only way it’d have been the same is if we were in the east taking advantage of the division like they are. As I’ve said before, there’s at least 4 teams from the west that could’ve don’t the same.

It’s actually amazing with how bad the East has been that uga didn’t have more success and sooner. Even with this win I don’t see Korby as a Saban or Dabo, but rather the recipient of stars aligning with nearly every opponent except bama sucking arse this year and bama being on 2nd and 3rd string in the final game.

I think Kirby would have still gone to uga, but he would have left the next coach with a lot of talent.

You don’t recall the tug o’ war battles Gus initiated to get the players hungry again?

So maybe it ended there, but he at least did that.

Im not so sure.

I doubt UGa would have been so quick to move on from Richt if Kirb wasn’t immediately available - and I doubt he would have been in 2015, because if its true that Kirb demanded Saban-like control at AU, I’m sure our PTB would have added language restricting him from bolting to his alma mater after such a short time.

I don’t think UGa forces Richt out for anyone other than Kirb. And if Kirb had as much success at AU from 2013-2017 as Kirb did at UGa from 2015-2019, I think we’d find a way to keep him.

College HC’s aren’t as tied to “Mama calling” as you might think - especially as far as AU and UGa are concerned.

(The UGa alum on the left got the AU job because the AU alum on the right turned it down to stay at UGa - then 8 years later when the AU alum retired, the UGa alum turned down the UGa job to stay at AU)
