Did Gus Really get a "Talking To" Before the Season?

I try not to keep up with football during the off-season (I just get burned out), but I read here (or maybe on AUFamily) that Bo and Mac were sent to "talk to" Gus about his offense out of concern. It wasn't a threat, but more of an intervention as in "we're wondering where the old Gus went and we want him back" sort of thing.

If this is true, then how does this relationship continue working? If I were Gus, I would feel insulted that two ex players were sent to critique my offense. I am the fricking coach, either let me do my job or just fire me. Don't treat me like a child by having people come "check on" me.

I mean when it comes to the point that you're having to send people to "talk sense" into your HC, isn't it just time to let him go? That shite ain't gonna work. It's almost as bad (but not quite) as YellaFella going down on the sidelines to chew out Tubs during a game.

It's still the same Gus. He's just getting exposed now for the fraud he is.

If Gus is running the HUNH with a speedy qb we are all happy right now, why he went away from that will always be beyond me.

Hell, if he was running the same offense we ran in '09 with Chris Todd we're probably 3-0 and in the top 5.

It is curious why we went away from the HUNH, but I think CGM's coaching decisions as a whole are strange.

Why was KP the only back to get touches last night. The only thing I could think is Gus wants one back on the team to have a 1000 yard season.

that is what the so-called "insiders" on the "fambly" forum claim.....the 23 guy is not as accurate as WDE and "phan" with the inside skinny, but all 3 claim that this is exactly what happened

There are way too many things to individually name that are wrong with the offense, but I'm satisfied with the QB play. Besides the turnovers, the play calling was just fricking terrible. I'm not sure if many of you saw but something is really fricking wrong with our receivers. They were run blocking on an obvious pass play on 3rd and long. They were fricking run blocking and our qb was rolling out of the pocket looking for an open receiver. Who do you fricking blame?

We'd still be 2-1, just wouldn't look so helpless vs Clemson

yeah....i don't want doublebubble to fail, but i knew it was a mistake to hire him for many reasons, and what you see happening now is one of those reasons....he has absolutely nobody to call on to help him from his coaching "family tree" because he does not have one except houston nutt and todd graham....his lack of experience is killing our program, and he is too damn arrogant, egotistical and stubborn to admit that he is over his head....he does do good things, too, in fact i actually like the way that he runs the program concerning the off the field stuff, recruiting and stuff, but the fact is, he is not as smart as he thinks he is. he is smarter than the hillbilly that we have for an AD,though and he can prove it by his bank account

Well you see Dylan, he's not the same Gus as we use to know.

Good does not always triumph. Sometimes, the dark side overcomes what Lincoln called the better angels of our nature. Every man has got a breaking point. You and I have one. Gus has reached his, and very obviously, he has gone insane.

And he's still out there operating without any decent restraint, totally beyond the pale of any acceptable play calling logic. And he is still on the field in command of the offense.

Care to elaborate on how exactly he is a fraud?
