Yeah, the writing was on the wall at the end of the year that Okeke was going to eat heavily into Murray's minutes and probably start at the 4 next year. I don't think Murray wants to take a backseat to anyone in his last year.

ETA: Bryce Brown also going through the draft process w/ no agent.

Wrong. Murray way better than Okeke right now. Okeke has a lot of upside but he needs to grow up fast and stop getting abused in the paint.

Murray may have still held an edge on rebounding, but Okeke can do a lot more on offense, is better on defense, and was 2nd on the team in rebounds so its not like he was far behind in that regard.

Look, Okeke was going to start next season regardless and that's just all there is to it. Okeke has an NBA future and Murray unfortunately doesn't.

It's pretty simple. Okeke is going to get more minutes than Murray next season at the 4 and his chance of getting any real minutes at the 3 disappeared when Purifoy was cleared. I'd love to have him stay just in case of injury but that's me being selfish. I'm not going to fault him for trying to better his game and finish his career getting meaningful minutes.
