It's been a nightmare. No matter who coaches back there, the defense still sucks. It's incredible

I'm starting to wonder if the type of player we're recruiting is contributing. Almost as if 4-5 stars think they're doing us a favor by signing and don't get their shite slapped back down to reality. Defense has been a consistent shite show and I really don't think it's always the offenses fault.

I think it's ingrained into the psyche of the team. Its a lot like losing in that if you don't know how to win, you won't win. Right now there is almost a full decade of middle of the road to bad defense. Even amongst the fans our expectations of what our D should be liked have been dumbed down to the point of being satisfied if we can field a D that is serviceable. We aren't even getting that.

Maybe it's a pride thing.

Our D needs to do what OM did with the Landshark identity. We haven't prided ourselves in bringing the pain and it shows. We need to recruit Miami kids and let them be Miami kids.

TRob needs to go to work

While the Bama vs Ole Miss game was high scoring, I was very impressed with how physical the game was. Can't remember the last time I thought that about an Auburn team.

It's the old either your the hammer or the nail mentality. Or, as a colorful former coach used to tell us, you're either a pitcher or a catcher on defense. Our defense is a bunch of catchers.

-What's going on with Cowart?
-Is there any realistic hope of an improvement on defense?
-Monty Adams deserves props. He's the only one playing with effort and it sucks it goes unnoticed.
-I'm tired of our defense being a laughing stock, but it's going to take a full recruiting cycle of about 4 years before we see significant improvement. Can't rely on JuCo talent and it will take young guys to develop.
-Keeping Muschamp is key to this. We've had too many d-coordinators with different schemes. Our players haven't developed in part due to all of the continual changes. We need a couple of years of stability.

Gets playing time but he has unrefined technique and is struggling against better talent. Remember he is adjustin to being up ~40LBs, better competition and playing SDE.

Depends on LB/DL play. We aren't getting pass rush from DEs, D Russell has been slowed by a foot/ankle injury and D Lambert is Jake Holland bad. Those issues are before their RBs come across LBs who wouldn't be able to make a tackle in a powderpuff game.

If we can get some Anthony Swain type quality production, solid guys who play tough, we would be greatly improved. Our DBs are solid.

Come draft day, he will be recognized.

Outside our DT recruiting, we are stocked and we should see a dominant defense soon if the Boom culture sticks.

-DB- Our FR CBs show a ton of promise even if they get burned. At safety both Nick Ruffin and Tim Irvin show a ton of promise.

-LB Tre Williams + Darrell Williams both are talented and have time to pick up the cultural shift. Add in high motor Javy Mitchell for Sam and we have a good & talented LB corps

-DE - Byron Cowart, Rasheed Kennion, Prince Tega, maybe Justin Thornton all have a ton of potential + some experience. All of them are FR/SO

-DT D Russell & This position is so depressing to think about. We are going to get curb stomped going forward

I was thinking the same thing watching it. Ole Miss has quality talent at every level of their D. OLE MISS HAS QUALITY TALENT AT EVERY LEVEL OF THEIR D. We are dealing with a shite show. Hopefully Muschamp will be around long enough to turn it around.

Cowart appears to be struggling in space with the added weight. They need to get him in shape or move him inside like Ole Miss uses #5

It seems like the lsu game would have been ideal for a guy like cass. Whats so difficult about plugging a whole and hitting a rb.

After he and frost struggled in that game against plays we knew were coming there is no hope for them going forward against the tamu's ole miss's and bama's of the sec
