I guess I try to suppress those years, but now that you mention it, it was sudden.

I don’t see how he could possibly still be eligible?

So precovid, you could play 4 years, redshirt 1, medical redshirt 1 so maybe there were 30 guys around the country that played 6 years.

Now JUCO does not count, FCS does not count, 5 to play 4 FBS, RS, medical, are still available.

Is Covid year still a thing?

So I guess you could 2 years JUCO, 2 years FCS, 4 years FBS, RS, medical redshirt. And be almost 30 when you leave?

He was in the 2022 signing class. He redshirted '22, so he is a 5th year senior.

The new rule is 5 years to play 5, regardless of medical or redshirt years. FCS is included in that. JUCO is indirectly, because the moment a student enrolls at JUCO it starts the 5-year NCAA clock. Only exceptions are military deployment and religious mission trips.

Oh yeah, eff Alston for quitting on the team.

Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze dismissed Alston from the program, stating the player "failed to meet the expectations and standards of our program."

Reports indicate the dismissal followed Alston's request to redshirt the remainder of the season after a decline in playing time and a season-opening injury against Baylor.

So pretty soon we won’t have as many 25 year olds playing college sports.

Might seem like a long time ago but it was just last year.

He was angry at the team in general, not just Hugh. He swung on Keldric Faulk as Keldric tried to calm him down in a bit of an outburst.

He wasn't wrong for being upset and honestly I don't completely blame him for walking when he did.
