Tate reported earlier on The Bunker that Luper was at the top of Gus’ list. However, he just posted and said Gus offered, Luper countered and Gus refused. Folks speculating that Gus doesn’t have the money available that Luper wants and also mentioned that Gus might have to pony some up.

One of two (or possibly both) things is going on. They’re completely fabricating things based on guesswork or they’re publishing stories based on intel they’re getting from poor sources.
The problem is that beat writers have to produce content because their recruiting counterparts usually have too much information to publish because their sources are teenage kids that are happy to spill whatever. Gus Malzahn’s Auburn is not porous. There’s no leaks and no insiders. Absolutely nobody has ever been in the know on coaching hires in particular.

I mean. We talk about this shite in the recruiring thread before it is reported on. Wouldn't surprise me if we are our insiders source.
