Rocky: Jones’ blumpkin queen. That’s cute.

Two coaching staffs in a row I watched you double down on Gus and Harsin and then about-faced instead of just listening to me. Your opinion is worthless.

God I hope not. When the epitaph is written for Gus' tenure at Auburn, it will say "Herb Hand"

I know Gus had issues hiring an OC because it was always going to be Gus' offense, and Hugh may have the same problem there. Look for a young guy that may not have a lot of experience here but can recruit.

DC though, you can't afford to miss, here -- and Hugh said as much in his presser.

No single thing will tell me more about how this is going to go, than who he brings in at DC.

Yeah, don't think there is a single booster who is gonna put their thumb on the scale in that way.

The boosters just want to win.

The nice thing about the staff/recruiting questions is that they’ll be partly answered within a few weeks. We’ll get a sample of what they can accomplish

Not expecting too much given the tight timelines but some signs of vitality on the trail will quiet down a lot of the criticism so far

For me, personally, the portal and recruiting are the most important, right now. The guy is having to start by filling the hole left by the last guy, before he can even hit the ground running.

Prime was always going to be successful, anywhere he went. That's just my opinion.

However, Prime was also going to use Auburn as a stepping stone . I feel like, he would have been gone in 2-3 seasons.

For the record, I can like both of these coaches. I don't have to hate on prime to like Freeze, or, vice versa... But, freeze is my coach, so...

FWIW, Grant Heard is on the road recruiting for UCF today, per 247. Doesn’t mean he’s not eventually heading to Auburn but obviously means nothing is done or maybe nothing is near done

I watched coach Prime’s press conference today and it made me wish he hired him. Hopefully time proves Freeze was the right hire.

Not sure how that is toxic when the evidence directly contradicts quotes from his presser

I wasn’t specifically talking about you. You are just the last response at the time of my reply so it says I replied to you.

Me too,and I think it's hilarious he won't let his players wear earrings, but if you Google "Deion Sanders earrings" this is the first picture that comes up:

Deion would be a force of a recruiter in the SEC. His message plays really well with the recruits and their families.

You all need to get over Prime. It's done and literally nothing good will come from dwelling on it.

I personally am still excited about Freeze, especially considering the long-term benefit he could provide should he have success versus Coach Sanders. Deion, if hired at Auburn, would not have stuck around long-term. Freeze absolutely could.

Hearsay, but a buddy of mine has a close family friend who lives in Auburn an knows Freeze's kids well. They have said Auburn has been his dream job for a long time and he has no aspirations to go anywhere else now that he's got the job. That's like three levels of sources removed from direct Freeze contact, I know. Wouldn't surprise me if it was true though.

All that to say, it gives me confidence Freeze is going to bust his arse in the next couple of years to get the job done right. Will it bear fruit? I think so, but we certainly won't know for another couple of years obviously.

Can you ask your friend to ask his close family friend to ask Freeze's kid to ask her dad about the coordinator situation?

I think Nix not being OC is a good thing for us. Most of his career has been spent in Mississippi. 90% of his recruits are from Mississippi. That's not a state with a lot of talent and we don't really try to recruit the state hard anyway. They have the occasional player we are interested in, but not many. Now give me someone like him with connections in Al and Ga and I will get excited.
