You’re discrimination against salmon and pancakes has altered your efficacy in writing and to a lesser degree- Pete and Jang collaborative shite posting.

Are you asking where are the big name assistants that we can get? We go get Garner and bring him hAUme.

That would’ve made too much sense. He needs to hire some guys that recruits don’t have to google who they are.

The recruits might have to convince themselves “well if he was assistant to the DL coach for the Browns then he does know how to hold the football dummy the way Myles Garret likes it.”

That salmon and pancakes situation got worse before better. I think I'm back on stable ground. Next time I will stick with the IHOP salmon, lesson learned

I'm not sure these recruits know all that much about position coaches until they are coming around to recruit them.

The bigger problem is them having to google your head coach, like many had to last time around.

I don't care where the D Line coach comes from but if Liberty was as good as the statistics show along the defensive line then I'm for it. Auburn defensive line has not been impressive the past few years, give it a shot.

They had to this time around too. These recruits were in elementary school the last time Freeze was mentioned nationally.

Am I the only one over here chuckling at the irony of the same fanbase which was amounting support for a guy who less than 4 years was coaching in HS to become the permanent HC (Carnell) all of a sudden having an issue with hiring a young, highly regarded position coach?

How many of you want to hire T-Will as DC or think he's an amazing recruiter under the same light? Dude was literally hired as a GA straight from HS as well, and then promoted to the LB coaching spot with zero notable experience otherwise.

By the way, if you think that HS recruits knew who Travis Williams was (an undersized LB from Auburn who was never drafted and who spent two seconds in the NFL on a practice squad) then I don't know what to tell you LOL.

So much crying over nothing. Hugh Freeze has a very good eye for coaching talent; if he wants to bring the DL coach over then there is very good reason for that. Having to Google someone's name does not in any way imply that they can't recruit. Who were two of Kirby's best recruiters at Georgia? Dan Lanning and Glenn Schumann. Two extremely young guys who had zero name recognition. Lanning was hired away from Memphis and Schumann actually never even played football LOL.

I doubt that.

Well that's simply not true

Especially considering what we've read about him having been in a ton of Georgia high schools already.

I had to google Gene Chizik when Tubs hired him.

I'd rather somebody hire the right coaches than big names that don't fit (like Mason and Bobo) because that's what's expected.

IMO we don't really have any reason to doubt his coaching hires...at this point.

With this much immediate staff turnover, do we accept a bowl invite (if offered)?

Need to know whether I'm pulling for the Zips or not

Look in the recruiting thread. Some said they didn’t know who he was

I really don’t understand why everyone’s so defensive over this.

Some around here think we have to lament this as a great hire right away when it’s a simple fact that it’s not a home run hire. Because home run hires are hires where it’s a well established/well known coach that’s already proven.

This guy isn’t proven but yes he could turn out to be a good coach. Who knows though? No one.

So they did.

At least they won't have to do that for long

About half didn’t know about him. But as mentioned, their coaches and parents do. Not as big of a gap as someone with zero ties

Amen. Perfect example. Just because they have little name recognition nationally doesn't mean they are, or will be, a bad recruiter.

Everyone needs to go look at the list of the top recruiters nationally over the last few years and notice how many names you don't recognize. Even just looking at 2022, I follow college football more than the average fan and I don't immediately know much, if anything about:

Jay Valai
Ja'Juan Seider
Tommie Robinson
Dre Bly
Vince Marrow
TJ Rushing
Donte Williams
Patrick Toney
Al Washington
Kyle Flood
Freddie Roach
Jahmile Addae
Elijah Robinson
