Changes need to happen

This is my opinion obviously but would like feedback on some of the thoughts.
Offensive philosophy - I like the RPO offense. However I wish we ran RPO around 50% of the time and let the OL get after in run plays more on a regular basis. It’s hard to be physical if you are worried about getting more than 2 yards downfield. Also having a better pure drop back game with some timing routes would be a nice addition to the pass game.
Defensive philosophy - we have some very talented young players that are going to be absolute studs. But we play I think at times way to much bend but don’t break however that has become the norm for most of all college football. Biggest change for me I would like to see some more 4 man fronts I. Passing downs. Some of that requires trust in the back end not to get beat over the top.
Special teams - Tanner Burns may be great on paper but special teams have been atrocious. Everything from penalties, muffed punts, to missed FGs. Some tho of change has to happen.
Mentality of the team - this team has been broken. This team appears to be soft physically and mentally. Those can change. They start in off season workouts, at the dining hall, and pushing themselves to get better at their positions by doing everything every day to get better. It starts with personal responsibility. Can some of that come from the coaching staff? Yes but ultimately it has to come from the individual players. Obviously all players love the Auburn atmosphere of family and fun but long gone are the days of players dreading seeing coach Yox. That needs to happen and they need to embrace it. Change can be hard but what is the end goal. In the end they will be better for it.
In closing I think maturity and care means as much as anything to the team going forward. Coaches, players, staffers, do your damn jobs. Nothing else matters. That will contribute to players getting better and wins adding up. It’s time other teams fear having to play Auburn because they know they are going to be beaten up for a week after.

Please bring Scott Fountain back home from Arkansas.

Not a bad idea. He could coach TEs or running backs and still be special teams coordinator.
I’m sure there are other great special teams coaches.
Ben A. Definitely needs to be evaluated as well.
Thornton

Tanner Burns

Bill Clark has started putting feelers out there. He a bammer though. Kind of surprised they didn’t give Dilfer the boot at UAB and get Clark back.

My fear is that Freeze will continue to hire his buddies so that his staff is “loyal“ instead of taking an approach of hiring competent people to do their job and then holding them accountable. It’s the mark of an insecure coach. I hope I’m wrong.

Sums him up perfectly
It’s exactly why his coaching tendencies completely change in the 4th Q of games, especially with a lead

RPO requires great anticipation and execution.
Maybe we should get base plays down, then add RPO when we’ve mastered that.
RPO is a TD or a turnover without an elite trigger man.

At this point I'd like to see Freeze make his own bed with the offense. Serious questions if he brings a needed physical running game. I'm saying I don't want him to feel forced to bring in other ideas. I don't think that will work with Freeze.
Defense - no changes. Durkin and Charles Kelley are as good as Auburn will ever get.
Special teams - No more missed regular distance field goals. These are extremely demoralizing. I'll give a pass for this year because of the injury situation. Punting obviously needs to be better. Poor place kicking and punting are program killers and therefore fileable offenses. A sign of sloppiness within the program. Coaches need to deal with this however possible - giving multiple scholarships, etc.

Corch, if you need that much change, you just need a new coach.

His first two Auburn offenses have had zero identity. None. Just vague notions of being RPO heavy but even that has varied wildly game to game.
No bread and butter, no real strengths to speak of. Pretty bad in short yardage situations to keep the chains moving.

Study Narcissism
They have no identity (hollow inside, put on a good front)
Super Insecure (this is why they cheat)
Make Excuses (always everyone else’s fault)
Can’t take criticism (lash out - see comments about Pittman)
Passive Aggressive
These type personalities can never get out of their own way and always tend to self sabotage
It’s going to take an absolute miracle for him to make it

This is a Support Auburn site. Why do you think we want to do that?
Most people use that word for empty buzz words like you did.

He has an identity and a vision.
If I am being fooled in wait to see mode I wont lose any sleep over it. NIL contracts will keep Freeze's recruit in the fold.

The people I know like this had it all at one time
They can never keep it
Can’t stay out of their own way and self sabotage
You’ll see….

When I see, I will recover. The plan is more important then.
