I think Freeze has made his decision. It wouldn't be fair to Geriner to give him his first start, or first significant playing time, against the UGA D.

This info comes from Holden himself. Through another player.

What info? I get "change" but is he getting more reps at practice like we all anticipated

Yep, put him in after the 1st sack when PT eats dirt with the ball still in his hands.

Shouldn't take long at all.

Ok let me spell it out for you guys. QB meeting last night. Coaches tell the QBs it ain’t good enough. We are shaking things up. Holden will be taking reps with both the first and second teamers on the game plan.

This weeks QBs will be Thorne Robby Holden. But Holden should have some understanding of the game plan and reps which is not usual for the 3rd string QB in season.

If we get the same results as we have been. Holden will move to QB1 during the bye week and start the LSU game.

I’m not sure how much more plain I can make it.

Sounds reasonable and i think that's the best way to approach it.

Nah, more like protecting Geriner from Uga and giving him two weeks of reps and prep for the next week. You are getting what you and others asked for and you’re still finding a way to bitch about it.

Hugh kind of looking ahead and setting Holden up for a better chance at success. What?

Exactly. There is a but in there. Holden has to improve with the reps as well. It’s not a done deal but that is the plan

I hope Geriner gets better and takes over, if I have to watch many more games like last week with Thorne chucking and ducking I am sending Freeze a bill for my rehab. He should pay for it cause it’s the good Christian thing to do.

Agreed he needs to prove himself, but Hugh’s not going to even consider it until he gets as many reps as possible to see how he responds.

Had you said that in your first post, you wouldn't have been questioned. You just explained what we all assumed to be true. Not like that's some bombshell

It was pretty self-explanatory, IMO.

I do not look at it like Thorne is better than Ashford.

Thorne runs the system closest to what Freeze/Mtgy wants to run. I have often said that the smartest coaches in the word could be running the ball for 4 yards on every carry and get bored with it and have to show how smart or cute they can be.

I suspect if you let Ashford run the offense then it may be run, run, run punt and then run, break one, run, run, fg and so on.

At this point Auburn might have a better chance to get 1-2 turnovers and 2-3 long runs that can lead to points.

This fallacy that an Ashford offense can run at will is just that, a fallacy. And not a knock on Ashford. If you have no threat of passing they will put seven, or more, in the box and shut it down.

We were running well early in the game but it would not have continued. Once they saw we could not complete a simple swing pass their ears pinned back and they were off. If they had not sacked Thorne they would be tackling our running backs for a loss.

Pink had a nice description of the rpo and lack there of. Once they saw we could not complete a pass they simply creeped the safety and then the "0" was no longer there, no handoff, no QB run, and we could not pass it.

Ashford cannot run at will, but he is the most comfortable QB when the line breaks down.

The QB drops phased out as soon as he went in.

Lets all hope Thorne gets his fear under control this weekend. At home, in front of the Auburn faithful. If he can get over the yips and complete passes to these WRs running wide open we may make it a game this weekend.

Hell, if he completes that out and up to Fair and Hooks catches a perfect dime for a TD, we may have been 4-0 right now.

One of the guys on the podcasts made a great point, we were in the 4th quarter when hooks dropped that TD pass....it would have been 20-17 if he doesnt drop it. And that is with our offense playing turrible.

There is still hope! frick UGA!
