Not an Auburn grad, wife is and son is. Became a fan as a result of the actions of Coach Jordan.

I was in Birmingham in 1965 and through a friend had a ticket to the Iron Bowl. Got there early and was wandering around when out of the blue a man approached and stuck out his hand and said, "Hi, I'm Ralph Jordan", I stuttered and said something like uh, uh, uh, and introduced myself and we shook hands.

I said go get em Coach and he said thanks.

I became an Auburn fan that day and wondered, why in the world would he come up to me on the day of THE GAME and (in my mind) waste his time.

(there is no way he would have thought I was a football prospect)

I was living in Griffin. I left very early every morning. School from 7:30 till 2 or so every day. Left school and drove to Morland ave. Basically worked till I was tired. Usually 8-10pm. Drove home. Up the next day and did it again.
That's dedication. Good on you for doing it, and it got you to where you are today. I think that hard work and dedication are missing in a lot of the younger crowd these days.

Yep. I still commute over to the west valley. I run operations at a food manufacturing plant....

Everyone I work with is out west, Buckeye, Goodyear, etc.

Some days, I feel like I need one of those for my managers. Working in HR, I’ve dealt with a broad spectrum of craziness. The Psych actually was a very good base for what I’ve done in my career. If I stayed at Auburn, my option was an Industrial/Organizational psych masters. MBA has served me better.

Yeah, that’s a casting couch if I ever saw one. Pornhub pays well, nobody suspects the HR people.
