I was just looking up the stats from last night and Broome, CBM, and Chaney went for 16, 15, and 14 respectively. I think 12 of Chaney's 14 were in the 2nd half. We also killed them on the boards 42-29.

That has to be one of the ugliest games I've ever watched where three guys are right at 15 pts.

Poor shooting, missed some open shots. Impressed with Arky’s athleticism

The careless turnovers were very frustrating

Both Auburn and Bama seemed to have hangovers from the fistfight. Bama completely melted down on defense and we did so on offense. Our defense carried us yesterday and we did enough on offense and got our FTs in to close it out.

Their guards picking up the ball right over half court really bothered Denver and Tahaad last night. Outside of a few possessions, they were playing defense really tight on the ball and were really active on nearly all of our passes. That was making it difficult for our guys to run any sets efficiently. They were making it tough to throw it into the post too.

We definitely missed way too many open looks, but gotta give Arkansas a lot of credit for their defensive effort in the half court last night.

Maybe the feel of an ugly tournament type game.

Good game to have behind and to reflect on why.

Cal coached his arse off yesterday, was in mid-court most of the time and close to getting a T a couple of times, called timely timeouts and put the players in position to win the game. His players just couldn't execute (FTs, tipping ball into their own basket, sloppy possessions etc.) or they would have won.

There was a moment early in the first half which probably was not on the broadcast. There were two plays near back to back where Broome passed to Denver and he flubbed it. He came to the bench and absolutely reamed him first and then got him the tablet and showed him what was going on. Denver got dialed in after that.

It's just an example of cherry picking. I fully expect flagg to win it because of the name Duke

I am not normally used to our players being in these conversations but Im not mad if Broome doesn't get it.

I expect POTY to remain status quo. Carry the team and put up big stats. Flagg gets the easy schedule so he will win.

Bruce is a good coach his players just couldn't execute. Missed layups, Missed dunks, 3s, etc or they would have won by more.

I'm just chalking this one up to a hard fought win at bama, and the hangover effect of a big game, but they need to get used to that constant challenge, it's nearly March. Love that bama lost in decided fashion again though last night

We are in a good position when we can claim that a win against a Calipari coached Arkansas team was one of our most poorly executed ones.

Some of y'all need to check yourselves.

We have won our fair share of close games so we have no excuses. On the court it looks like we know how to win. We went down by 1 and Baker Mazara drove the baseline to promptly go up again. He knew that was his best chance to score.

Ironically CBM did some CBM bullshite after that and that can bite us in the butt. He motioned for the defender to engage him and CBM went iso and drew the foul. Regardless of the result was that smart basketball at that time of the game or not? When a player is going iso that is more or less an individual pissing match.

Even injured JB is demanding clock tight coverage, constant review, and respect. Which is enough reason for us to keep him in the discussion. Can't answer the whitt-how of the POTY process that's opinion among minds and likely fluid on the remainder of play?

Maybe injury can go hand and hand with popular option.

Yep. That is classic looking for something to meet your confirmation bias. If we hadn't gone to Broome on multiple occasions in big/close games to close them out already, maybe can entertain the conversation.

Dude had another double-double, and Arky was doing everything they could to deny him. Chaney was hot and the more open option a lot. It is great coaching there too as it shows another variable teams have to guard against in closing pars of games.

As others have said, the name on the jersey is impacting this race as much as anything.

I noticed after Denver went into the paint for a bucket early - it was blocked by their big center and he didn't want to go back for the rest of the game - actively passing out. When the big center was in it changed how we attacked - i.e. Broome going with the fadeaways
