He was also 1-4 vs Gustav and 0-4 vs Bert at Arky, including losing to both one of the years he beat Saban.
Since that 2nd victory over Bama, he is 2-7 against teams that finished ranked in the top 25 (including 2-5 at Ole Miss) and 5-10 against teams with 9 or more wins.
He is thoroughly mediocre, and his most impressive wins as a HC occurred over 7 seasons ago. Might as well beg Gustav to come back if we're going to settle for that.

I'm right there with you. Hiring Grimes or Freeze is a huge letdown. We will be scraping it out for 4th or 5th in the west year in and year out.
What a huge waste of time and money. Should have just kept Gus and enjoyed the mediocrity.

Baylors offense is hard to watch. I don't know why anyone would be excited over Grimes. I am not for Freeze either,no way excited about that. but I bet he will be it if he will take it. Auburn is terrible at football coach hires.

I dont really have a dog in the fight. Im defending freeze so hard because this board writes off good coaches and tries to rewrite history. Hugh Freeze is a good coach. Full stop. Stop trying to poke holes it that. Is he the best option? Who knows. Prime, Freeze, Grimes...we could all throw out names but in the end, it will be a coach not a damn one of us knows about

Grimes and Freeze are both extremely underwhelming hires considering how much we spent to fire 2 staffs. We would have been wise to keep Gus, pump $40 million into NIL, and break the bank for the best OL and DL coaches/recruiters. Those hires feel very lazy and like we did no real "search"; Lashlee would also fall into that category.
Hopefully when the AD hiring and coach firing shite gets real the big money guys will dig their heads out of their asses.

Agree, but the important thing is for Auburn to be uniform in our support and I believe the PTB are. Give that person the resources for NIL and Coaches and we will do very well. It is the Chizik model and it worked before.
I actually think Grimes would be better. But as I have predicted, I still believe it to be Freeze.

Doing fine. We only got some very minor damage. Things are back to normal for us. Down South, not so much
Hoping my new boat shows up tomorrow. If so, Im taking Thursday and Friday off and testing it out
