It’s going to be a long decade or so for you Randy.

Dang, give that man credit for living his life his way.
Died too young.

Now that the coaching search discussion will start winding down, I just want to say, I am thankful to have been a part of this 500+ page thread (that I called first pete) with you all.
In true Auburn fashion, it's been a hell of a ride.

Agreed

I don't think Prime is very thorough. Colorado doesn't offer liberal arts degrees like general studies for athletes, and the faculty controls the degrees offered, not the administration. Credits don't transfer, so Deion is fricked in the portal. There was something like 17 transfers last year that were interested in CU but only 3-4 could be recruited in the end.

Will loosen up for Deion won't they?

There’s a big difference in loosening up on application standards for athletes and adding new majors.

That’s interesting. He’s going to need portal players badly in the beginning.
Could be the thing that an inexperienced coach hasn’t thought about. I have always thought CO was a bad fit for him and he should have pushed for the USF job or held out for something better.
Wonder how this will affect all his players he plans to bring over from JSU…specifically his son and Hunter? Hunter is just a year in so probably easier but Shedeur is further along.
As expected, Shedeur entered the portal yesterday.

His son is a smart kid, had Ivy League offers. Some of those other kids will have a harder time

I agree. CU isn't going to give Deion the support he's gonna need to rebuild. He might grab some recruits off the splash hire, but eventually $ will talk and the splash will wear off.

Its not about being smart, its about his credits transferring from a school like JSU to CO and how it would affect his eligibility.
I think Prime’s main reason for taking that job was getting more exposure for Shedeur at the P5 level so hopefully they looked into all this before he made this move.
Prime has been transferring kids from P5 into a lesser program and its a little harder going the opposite direction from a lesser program to P5 schools.

He will only go as far as the NIL money will take him. Kids will go get a picture with Prime, put a CU hat on the table, then take more $ to play somewhere else

quote:I haven't really looked to see of CU has a lot of portal transfers. I forget where, but I read the blurb about Colorado and transfer issues before they hired Deion. I've always been curious why CU hasn't been good in football since the late 80's-90's, and with them also being in the PAC 12. It a great school and location. Boulder is a great spot. Expensive to live there but great. Our largest shareholder and Chairman of the Board of one of the tech companies I worked for lived in Boulder. We'd always have our quarterly board meetings there. He built and owns the St Julien Hotel so we always stayed there when in town.

The only things I know about CU are Kordell Stewart and Eric Bieniemy.
