Hell, even Venables, who was the most sought after coordinator in VERY long time, has his #6 team about to lose in a blow out, to Kansas State, AT HOME!

Let’s think about this sentence. Venables coached in the ACC. How much competition did he really go up against?

You a kidding, right? How many national championship games did he coach in? Against offensive players that now fill the NFL?

absolutely no juice in leaving UK for AU. They would match any money we would offer and he's already a legend there. Why jump over to AU for the same money only to face Bama and UGA every year. He could retire comfortably from UK winning 8 games a year.

If any coach refused an Auburn offer cuz he was "scared" and more comfortable to coach fricking football at KEN-frickING-TUCKY then they that coach isn't worth any attention in the serious college football world in the first place.

Matt Rhule would be my top choice. I’d pull a Bama and live by his side until he accepted the job.

He is gonna come back to college and someone is gonna be very happy they got him.

But why? He has turned around both college program he has coached.

He took TEMPLE from 2-10 to 10-3 in 4 years.

He took Baylor from basically a death penalty from 1-11 to 11-3 in 3 years

There isn’t a coach with a better track record from turning garbage teams to double digit wins per season that we have any chance of getting.

Dude, I’m on, and will always be on, the Saban and Kirby were allowed to cheat train. But given that, how you could say Smart has been less than spectacular is maybe the stupidest thing ever posted on this board. His second team units are probably better than our starting unit. Heck, his 3rd team OL would probably start for AU.

Cheating or not, nobody out works Kirby or Saban on the trail and that has instrumental to both success.

Not sure what your point is. I said look at the competition he faced in the ACC. You pointed to championship games. Clemson had one of the easiest paths to the CFP for years. The running gag is the ACC has been a joke. So, like the Boise treatment, Clemson only had to get up for 1-2 games.

Nobody expects much more than what Mark Stoops is already doing and that’s why Calipari insulted Stoops program.

It would be pretty dangerous to hire based on low ceiling achievements right?

Stoops is a sexy name right now because of what he is doing at Kentucky. I hope the search committee takes that in to account and weighs all.
