This was a rebuilding year for Kiffin. Most of his staff left. Corral, Ealy, Drummond, and others left. He had to start over… and still showed enough of what he can bring to Auburn.
Number 19 their second best receiver tonight was only a walk on. Their best receiver was a transfer from Louisville.

Look I would be happy with Lane, but it doesn’t really matter. As long as we hire a guy that is willing to BS and recruit we will be good. PTB are aligned now, money is flowing, we are gonna do great stuff.

Lane is worth the hire. I am concerned we are going to be less willing to work with Sexton’s wants now and the talks die. Ending 1-4 is limping away to a new gig. So, there’s that.
However I feel just as strongly that a concerted effort to strengthen his team with a quality Kevin Steele caliber DC and to give him the players that he wants he will have 10+ win teams soon. He already hammers the portal well. The red zone stuff tonight is pretty atypical. They were ranked 26th in the country before tonight. Not bad. Not great.
