I wouldn't want to follow Saban. I want to follow the guy that follows Saban

Im starting to believe we are getting Deion. If Caddy can inspire that much effort, imagine what Prime Time would do.

If Deion goes to Auburn, he will become a legend just like Barkley and Bo. Auburn is where legends are born

I just don't see a guy that's a veteran SEC coach and veteran athletic director hiring Deion at Auburn. Nor do I see the PTB at Auburn going along with hiring Deion.
If Deion had a few more years as HC under his belt and was still successful it would be a different story entirely.

It has been easy to get caught up in all the talk about Freeze, but the truth is, Prime is still the way. We need to get it done.

So wait for another power 5 team to scoop him up, have them excel, then act like we wanted him the entire time?

When you see a sure winner, you dont have to wait to see if he is successful somewhere else, you take him NOW and reap the benefits

I know man, but I cant let people incorrectly shite on Freeze as a coach. Freeze is fricking awesome as a coach, just cringe worthy as a human being

I'd take him though. Winning is winning, and winning solves everything, especially in football

Right now if it was Prime, Lane, Freeze, or even Urban, I would be pretty happy.
Really, anyone else and I will hope for the best but feel like we didn’t quite get it done. We are in an awful spot. This hire has to be yuge!

McElroy said we have made an offer. The initial one was turned down. The coach wants 10 figs to leave his current job.

Unless he's making it up out of whole cloth (a definite possibility with McElroy), there's only one guy he would be talking about.

Still think it's Sexton pimping for a bigger deal from Ole Miss, though. I doubt we end up prying Kiff away from Oxford.

The factor would be guaranteed money. If we offered 8 years $72 million, Ole Miss would have to offer $72 million over 4 years. Will never happen.

We have also made Sexton wealthy through buyout money, he loves us

This is a real factor in all this. It’s going to take a fat, long term contract to get Lane but it gives us a ton of leverage that OM likely can’t match due to them being capped at a 4 year contract.

Has to be talking about a kiffin. Surely Cole would have called him out on his BS If it wasn’t true. I think we’re at a crossroad on going all in or doing what we always do with a coach and do just enough. If you’re gonna spend all that money to fire Gus and Harsin, go all out on the man you want. I do think Kiffin could win a National title at Auburn.

If push comes to shove, Ole Miss will lose. If not us, someone

I think Ole Miss would target Prime if we take Kiffin.

"The coach wants 10 figs to leave his current job"

So McElroy thinks a coach is asking for a billion dollars? Could he be any more full of shite?

I see this as sexton leaking it regardless of if we’ve even made an official offer or just started talking numbers.

He’s creating a bidding war that may not even be there.

Worst case for his client is ole miss gives another raise and extension and the best case is he lands a historic deal at auburn.

Yeah, I think he meant 100MM

ETA

And he did not mention Kiffin. So it could be Lanning, also
