Sounds like a plan. Now, write it on a piece of paper, rubberband it to a brick, and throw it through Roberts window!

How about giving serious consideration to Coach Dave Aranda? He is presently the winning head coach at Baylor. Coach Aranda will be successful at AU as he is young, energetic and proven.

So do you think Aranda would leave Baylor right now and come to Auburn?

His buyout alone takes him off the list. I saw him linked to Nebraska, that would be career suicide

Its going to be funny when Auburn finally makes the coach announcement and its not a person that a single person here or their pay hero's have even mentioned. Again

I'm biased but I try to look at it from the coaches views and what we look like to them compared to what their goals are and where they want to be long term. We have to look back to all but Sanders (because he doesn't seem to care and thinks he can win anywhere).

To me I would see us as a double edged sword. Easier to recruit and in turn to win but harder than most on coaches that don't produce quick results. (but thats turning into everywhere now. LSU was flip flopping on BK all the way til he beat us.)

Its probably their plan. Hire someone everyone has to support without getting time to think about it that looks good on paper.

They need to get with the majority and tell the others to get with the program, if they care about it, and stop fighting it. Otherwise the Athletic Department with never be stable and we will keep having this problem. They probably have to go down til they found someone they all agreed on last time. They need to go with the best money can buy and not having to worry about politics or we will never have a solid program.

If you have been a part of a Auburn coaching search, especially since Gore invented the internet, you would know.

Chizik
Malzahn
Harsin

All were WTF around here.

Just a feeling, nothing concrete; and I think Cohen promised a big splash to get the job and I don't think our PTB is ready for Deion. If not Rhule, then maybe Kiffin.

When I'm right throw a big party for me; but when I'm wrong just ignore the post.

Malzahn was 100% expected, and people were cautiously optimistic about it.

Malzahn was absolutely known and many thought he'd be hired.

Harsin I had to google... and then I was still

I agree. He's not going to stay at Ole Miss forever. Might as well grab him before someone else.

Well I don't know if Aranda would agree to coach at AU or not. However if you don't try, you don't do. Some things AU may have in its favor: 1) the new $90M football only facility and 2) Saban in 70 years old.

I agree you have to offer him, Lane and whoever is kind of a pipe dream they have out there. I just have to think we are a little toxic right now. We have always had that reputation and now with what went down with Harsin, I just cant believe we are some kind of dream job for a "good" coach. And Aranda is that.

It seems like there are always more good jobs these days than good coaches and everyone is paying now so why take a job at a place where shite happens like it has here?

We will see and I hope I am wrong

We will eventually have to change that reputation by hiring a coach and guaranteeing then so much time to prove what they can do. With a new AD coming and a depleted roster, now is as good a time as any to devote to a coach for at least 3 or 4 years and take what it brings. Make it like the new AD is all about giving coaches time and devoting to them.
