We wouldn't hire Prime to be classy. We would hire him for his recruiting. His connection to the NFL. And yes that brashness. That's what would make it a "splash" hire.

He would get a taste of humble pie his first few years at AU but could be a reason we rebound quickly as well. Every coach has a give and take to them. Positives and negatives.

And to add to that, there is NO WAY Prime could NOT do better than what we have.

If Prime didn’t work out, we would at least have good players for the next staff.

I would possibly be open to Matt Rhule. My big worry about him would be his long term commitment or would he be looking for a better opportunity elsewhere? Or did the Panther gig humble him and would be looking for a long term fit as Saban found coming back to Bama after his Miami gig?

I think given time he would improve his play against ranked teams. He definitely has a resume of turning a program around and in short order. Seems to choose the right assistants as well. I’m intrigued by him anyway. More so then some of the other names I’ve seen pop up here.

If you had $1000, how much of it would you put down on that happening? Realistically.

Whatever we do, we don't need to dick around the whole season and settle for another sub par hire

zero. I don't think Prime is going to be the next coach. But I don't think anything that happened at ASU this week will affect him being the coach or not being the coach.

Kiffin and Prime will get calls. If one takes it cool.

If not it'll be Grimes or Freeze.

I think any of the 4 can be good coaches but bring it from very different styles of coaching.

The prime timers need to go watch that clown show that happened after the Jackson State/Alabama State game Saturday. Including the pregame antics.Including the press conference afterwards. That is a "prime" reason that Auburn will never go there.

LOL! I saw that shite yesterday. This is why you don't hire ANYONE who lacks experience. As bad as things are at Auburn right now, it could get worse. Eddie Robinson Jr. hit the nail on the head with his comments about Sanders "being being SWAC". He sees him for his true self, a self-promoter. You think things are bad now, a guy like Sanders has the ability to leave the program in ashes.

I'm seeing that there is a press conference at 10am today. Is that true?

Are you talking about the Alabama State players yelling “f*** you ni**er” or the ASU coach acting like a complete dick and shoving Sanders after the handshake?

The video I saw was Sanders walking thru the other team before the game. I guess he "takes a lap" before the game, but the other team was there when Deion chose to barge thru.

I cannot see Auburn ever hiring him. Deion is his own brand, wears it on his shirt. I just don't see him fitting into AU's brand.

The biggest question is what are the fans, administration, boosters, and PTB willing to do.

What kind of program do we want?

Everyone say one that plays for championships. Every team. Ok great. Does that mean every year, every 3 years, once a decade. Top 10 program meaning finishing ranked in the top 10 how many years out a 10 year cycle. What is to be expected to be the Auburn standard. Our normal history or greater.

For greater it takes the entire Auburn family. We have to be willing to spend around 15-20 million a year on a an elite staff, have to be willing to spend around 20 million a year as well on NIL at least at first until the market becomes something standard.

So expectations need to be decided prior, then go to the coaches and make it known the Auburn expectations and what they will have to work with.

Are we as normal fans willing to sacrifice being able to go to games because tickets will be $80 for shite games, 100 plus for SEC games, rivals pushing 150 plus season ticket bumps for tigers unlimited. Are we willing to spend $25 on a hotdog and coke at the game.

Money is the name of the game right now. The rich will survive.

Again, Eddie Robinson Jr acted like a complete arse after the game and stood by while his players yelled “f*** you ni**er” at Sanders before the game, but its just like you to want to praise someone like that.

Fun question time

Who is y’all’s dream hire? Not contingent on reality and whether they would actually accept an offer. Who would y’all want and think would do well?

If anyone says Freeze I’ll request a ban

There's a press conference every Monday.

Did you know the full story behind it based on Robinson’s point of view? Or just saw the midfield incident?

There’s more that took place for Robinson to respond the way he did. Robinson despite some earlier antics from Prime was going to shake his hand but prime wanted to make it a bro hug moment and Robinson wasn’t having any of that.

Prime made no attempt to meet with Robinson for a pregame chat on the field, which is a traditional courtesy. Apparently Prime walked through ASU’s pregame huddles and took a long route to avoid Robinson to get to the sideline. Apparently with game in hand chose to score a TD rather than kneel ( not one that bothers me really. Especially if you have reserves playing). However, I guess that added fuel to the smoldering fire.

Then prime wanted to bro hug it out rather than just shake hands and Robinson didn’t want to put on a fake show. I don’t blame him for his choice. That is based on Robinson’s point of view.
