I agree. If we lose to Missou, I don't see how he makes it to the LSU game. If he wins, it will just delay the inevitable.

I think if there is ever was a time the PTB knew they had an opportunity and obligation to make a homerun hire it was now.
It's early in the season and gives us time to find an AD and then the HC while other programs are focusing on their seasons. I get that Auburn is not an ideal destination right now, but it is still Auburn University in the best conference in the nation and we have the resources to go out and get a bigger name.
The PTB now see what happens when they try and get a bargain. Their fans are pissed and they know they have to deliver.
Again, the timing on this is crucial. We have so much damn time and I hope they do not waste it. IIRC before Harsin was hired, pickings thinned out so quickly. Now the job market has a more abundant selection of candidates it seems. Maybe I'm wrong.

it is a critical time, especially with OU and Tx coming to the league, it's only going to get tougher. if we make a crappy hire we will become what UT has been since Fulmer left. we need to make sound hires for AD and HC. i just hope we can hire both of them within a reasonable time like you are saying because we currently have the advantage of little competition outside of nebraska.

Arizona State just fired their coach. Nebraska did it a few days ago. We should definitely be in the mix talking to candidates now. Waiting to the end of the season and it won’t be good.
