For future reference, can you please list your experience with football in general but more specifically expertise in coaching football and player evaluations/operations. This will help the board going forward when engaging in conversation.

Am I to assume your opinion comes from experience?

So, what empirical evidence do you offer to prove that Joey is better than Bo at QB? Please be specific.

If you don’t have a sample size of Joey to compare Nix to, how am I supposed to provide it? At least I’m not basing my opinion on the coaching staff’s when same coaching staff has screwed up more often than not. A coaching staff, mind you, that recruited Queen over Lamar Jackson probably because they wanted the “little more developed” guy to mask their own development deficiencies.

'm the biggest Gatewood fan there is. But if Nix wasn't struggling so bad, even I wouldn't be calling for Joey to start. The fact is, he is struggling. The fact is, Joey has looked damn good each time he comes in. The fact is, Joey is the type of QB Malzahn wins big with. It has nothing to do with who favors who.
Struggling so bad he led a game winning drive against Oregon and won the damn game for us and has led Auburn to its first 3-0 start since 2014. He is improving each game but lets ignore that bc of bias

I ask again, when have we had a QB on the bench who should have been starting and proved it later? Or any other position. Let me scream from the rooftops OUR COACHES KNOW THE PLAYERS ON THE ROSTER BETTER THAN WE DO. Recruiting is different, they don't have the data or see them every day.

So, none. Glad we got that out of the way.

Exactly my point. Now STFU.

A month ago I said all this QB stuff was sad to see because people are treating this like politics with their parties/candidates — digging in no matter what is said or what happens.

You mean like some wishing Gatewood would transfer because of their Nix zealotry?

Ok then. So your point is because I have no experience in coaching or talent development, I’m not entitled to an opinion. Is this a message board or a fricking coaches guild? ,

Exactly my point.

So your point is you don’t know if Nix is better or not, you just know Nix has a higher sample size (of mediocrity) and can assume Nix?

How do our coaches stumble upon using Kam Pettway as a RB? Why did we use Peyton Barber so damn much when we had Jovon on the bench? Why does Kam Martin even get carries when backs that are more talented do not? Why did Tua or Lawrence ever sit on the bench? All great questions, without the yelling, mind you.

I just can’t imagine caring this much about something that doesn’t impact me. I don’t want to come off insensitive but there’s some major mental health red flags going on in here

How has Bo struggled? Please enlighten me... I see a QB getting better every week.

1st Half against Oregon (He struggled, looked terrible) 2 turnovers...(Is this when your mind was made up?) Since then, 4 TDs and Zero INT...

2nd Half against Oregon vs. a ranked team as a true freshman led us to victory in the 4th quarter. (98.3 Rating)

Tulane: Improved over Oregon. 19 of 37 is not great, but very workman like. (107.3 rating)

Kent State: Improved: He completed 75% of his passes with two drops.. Yes it was Kent State. (180.2 rating)

Auburn is 3-0 with a Freshman QB, there will be growing pains. But I do not feel Bo is struggling.

Now for Gatewood, I love this kid. He will help us win some games. But Bo is and should be the starter.

Fans trying to create a QB controversy will NOT help this team.

I mean people can beat their chest saying they’re right; but people should wait until points are put on the board. Offense is just as anemic as 2015.

You think 19 out of 37 is “workmanlike.”

You’re drunk.

less to do with Gatewood, more to do with annoying fanboys that wont shut the frick up. These Gatewood fanboys want a Qb controversy, which of course will tear the team apart and ruin the season

I counted 10. Those would have been sacks or INT under previous QBs.. so 19 of 27... Not bad...

Oh no. Quite the contrary! You absolutely have a right to your opinion. Now I know that there is no more value to your opinion on QBs than anyone else's.

your point is

The coaches know more about player evaluation than either you or I do and that they are putting the players they feel are the best on the field. If Nix is "struggling" out there now, then empirically that means that Gatewood would be worse.

Certain posters are failing to remember that message boards are not real life and that their hard work expressing their feelings here don’t matter in any way, shape, or form

I think if you start with that reality and work your way backwards it gets sad really quick
