It made no difference in his decision. The guy was a starting SEC QB on a losing team; they get praise and hate all the time. Maybe you've forgotten, but UGA fans gave Stetson Bennett all sorts of shite, and he won a national title for them. That's the nature of playing in this conference. If these guys all transferred out because someone boo'd or made a post on Twitter, none of these schools would have many players left.

Yes it did. It just wasn’t the decisive factor. The decisive factor is a combination of:
“I don’t want to run for my life the whole time and get booed and blamed for it all, so I’ll move on.”

In his own goodbye video he said something like “for a change I need to love myself more than Auburn” and I know exactly what he meant. Auburn led him astray.

It wasn't why he left, hence it made no difference.

If Harsin wasn't a complete failure and unfit to do this job, he wouldn't have left.

When he said that he needed to look out for himself, it's relating to Harsin and the fact that the football team was imploding. Of course a by-product of that would be Nix getting "blamed" for losing, but that isn't why he was leaving.

Man if only the Nix family would have known what almost got me banned on AuFamily the day he signed… Bo would of had such a different career…

I’m gonna have to disagree with you here meta. We have never agreed with Nix so that’s no surprise on my end.

It will be nice when we can have a QB that can feel rewarded (love themselves) for being here. We are not a bottom feeder team and there is no reason why Nix should’ve ended up at a better team willing to offer him an OL and some talent for his senior year. That was a Gus and Harsin problem but mainly Harsin. Our receiver group was trash this year despite knowing it was going to be trash last year! And then that applies for the previous year as well.

Yep can't blame him. Auburn was in turmoil and the guy is going to at least hold a clipboard in the NFL (which is a great gig). Needed a place to develop and show off his abilities.

”Constant social media hate"...he ended up transferring to Oregon and their fans immediately questioned why they were bringing in a loser QB from Auburn. Most of their fans wanted the 5-star they already had on campus (Thompson) to start over Nix. So you think he left Auburn because the fans were mean to him, but then chose to go to Oregon who's fans never wanted him in the first place? That makes sense.

This 100% correct. And they were VERY vocal about it. Even the students were mad over this. Not just the fans.

I saw that too. The Nix Auburn hate just cut deeper when he grew up in the stadium and on the campus and was a legacy. Which, my theory is that the Nix hate at Auburn was primarily from people who hate legacies. Saw it from some weirdos on this board loud and clear.

Oregon fans didn’t know anything about Bo other than Auburn/ SEC fans trashing him on Twitter. I don’t know if I’m taking crazy pills or what but I read their online articles as well and their journalists didn’t know shite about Bo either. There was one article wondering if Lanning could keep his turnovers or bad decisions down.

And we are talking about a guy that broke his own record of most passes without an interception or the guy that would rather throw the ball away rather than risk an INT.

Meanwhile the Oregon QB puts out a tiktok throwing the football 70 yards in the air. Typical wanting the backup QB type deal.

Yeah I think all they saw was a guy whose own homegrown fanbase didn't want him there, some mediocre stats, and their own 5 star sitting on the bench behind him. If I were in their shoes and didn't see the real Bo story I'd have been pissed too.

You guys do know not every situation is black and white right? It wasn't simply because the fans were "mean" or the OL sucked, the WR sucked, or Harsin sucked. It was a combination of all of the above and they all played a role. The environment at Auburn was toxic and that's why he left and was right to do so. To argue otherwise is silly.

Just for the record, Reggie Slack, Stan White (brutal), Pat Nix, Ben Leard (brutal), and Jason Campbell all experienced the same level of "hate" from Auburn fans. This is not debatable.

In this regard, The Bo Nix Auburn situation is not special at all. But some of the actors in the situation come off as thinking they are indeed special.

Glad for him that he handled the situation according to his desires/needs.

In alternate universe maybe, but not in this one. Especially not relative to level of play.

Bo received a lot of hate despite being the top player on our offense in 2021. He consistently graded just as well as the rest of the offense. He was the straw that stirred our drink. He made things happen when he could. Comparing him to someone like Campbel which had all kinds of help isn’t special.

I’m 2019 he was a drag on our offense. In 2021 he helped our offense. Auburn fans should’ve pivoted away from that daddy ball bullshite they were so enamored with.

What is the point, nay the benefit, in taking the heat just to line up with Robbie’s talent and get smashed an extra year and then be known throughout life as a bust? Don’t be stupid.

Especially when he can just go elsewhere and prove the onus belongs with Harsin, and Gus.
