They would have been better off if ESPN didn't make a spectacle for his first game like he was the Chosen One.

Bo isn't wrong. Already played one year under Harsin, and knew the OL would never protect him. He didn't have a receiving corp.

As for parents they are going to feel some hurt over his time here. Let's not pretend Auburn fans didn't bombard his social media and blast him. Parents are protective and Pat and wife are highly disappointed in how their alma mater treated their legacy son, which we struggle to get legacies to return to Auburn.

I think they expect some criticism playing such a pivotal position but it went beyond that, and especially when he chose to leave. The dude put it all out on the field every time he played. He had nothing else to prove here and made a decision that was best for his future which has been proven correct.

We should expect some criticism back our way. It sucks but that is the reality of it.

I hope he finds a way to win the Heisman and I hope Auburn becomes a stronger program than at any time in history moving forward.

Well, ole Gussy was hyping him up so much to the media that they only went by what they were hearing.

Bo was everything Gus and the media were saying, he's proved that last year and now this year, it was the talent around him that didn't measure up. It's unfortunate too, because that defense we had his sophomore year was fricking good. If we had a slightly better OL and a couple of go to WR's. I think we could have been undefeated that year and not LSU.

But I agree, Gus shouldn't have put that kind of pressure and expectations on a freshman.

He was a five star recruit, number one DT QB in his class, starting as a freshman as a legacy playing at his dream school. Playing for the coach who had been mostly incredible with DT QBs - Cam and Nick. It’s a big deal so of course they would make a narrative out of that. You can blame ESPN for a lot of crap but can’t blame them for that. Think we all had pretty high hopes and excitement for him

I don’t have a problem with him and his family sharing their side of the story, it’s their prerogative even if it’s over the top and exaggerating. But it is odd given how most have said here, he’s taken the high road thus far. I haven’t watched the documentary or trailer or whatever, so I am hoping Bo stays out of it mostly because I’m still a fan and want him to succeed. I don’t think he gains anything by badmouthing Harsin or Gus anymore - we all know their faults and shortcomings by this point.

And Gus tried to make him a pocket passer.

We need storybook endings not beginnings.

Auburn fans expected Bo to right wrongs like Cam after that. When in reality Bo is a tough front runner that needed to play for someone like Ohio State instead.

Bo had zero chance to succeed here. Unrealistic expectations added to bad talent around him. Then you had the Auburn fan mob mentality for Bo to be the savior and he just wasn’t that.

As was said when he transferred it was best for Auburn and Bo.

Of course Bo’s mom is gonna love her son more then Auburn. Shocker! It was insane the shite off the field Bo had to deal with regardless if you want to call it big boy football or whatever. It was relentless and daily from a large portion of our fanbase.

It’s probably best to stay off social media during and after games until fans can handle their emotions. These type boards are different you have to come looking for us to see what we said but @ing a player or coach is just dumb

Bo and Auburn would probably both be in a better spot today if he never came to AU.

Bo and his Dad would have been excoriated by everyone including us if he had done that.
I would understand if Pat would not want any of his Central kids to go to AU anytime soon.

Screw 'em all. I hope he wins it all this year.

Me too.

I don't have a problem at all with the video. Bo did receive way more criticism than he deserved from the Auburn fan base, and derision from other fan bases.

He got all the pressure of being a highly touted legacy, but little of the help from the OLine, receivers, coaches, and fans that he needed. Still, he started for three years, graduated, married his sweetheart, and moved on. He made a smart decision after he graduated and I enjoy watching him play in green. Hope he wins the Heisman.

Has always been my thoughts. Its funny that people here dont believe what the Nix family has said. Fans are brutal on players and he was one that got way too much criticism. He did some very good things here and got shite on regardless.

Pulling for him

We, meaning Auburn, completely fricked that up. He’s just telling the truth.

Not recruiting a solid O-line was Gus and co.'s doing and Harsin didn't do a damn thing to fix it. Bo is completing over 70% of his passes at Oregon.

There's no badmouthing Gus or Harsin, just Auburn and Auburn fans. He's almost 24 years old and married and his parents are pathetic. I don't believe for a second that Auburn fans spit on him for melting down against UGA. And he didn't get treated any worse than every other failed qb. Pat Washington and Jason Campbell got it a lot worse than little Bo did. JC stuck it out and finally put it all together his last year.

No they didn't. They weren't deluged with social media messages where fans think because they have access, they are allowed to send any message they choose and anonymously at that. The spitting part I struggle with, but I can't rule it out either.

Not just Bo, but I'm sure dad and mom.

Harsin's biggest wins don't happen without him. Gus is out probably a year or two earlier without him. Bo wasn't a world beater, but Auburn doesn't have a QB near his talent in the near future and that's why we have awful wide receivers, a one dimensional offense and are on our third coach in four years.
All of this. AU failed Nix not the other way around.

Jason Campbell was kept upright pretty well. The rosters aren't even similar. If anything Bo was the best player on a pathetic offense; meanwhile Jason Campbell was a liability until his senior year. There is a distinct difference.

Social media is a cesspool and 100% non-representative of “normal”.

If getting splattered by shite offended the Nix’s so badly, then maybe they should have refrained FROM REPEATEDLY DIVING HEAD-FIRST INTO THE CESSPOOL.

I get that, but part of a brand is building it, and the bigger the brand the more you are marketable to advertisers and companies. Unfortunately that is what one must enter to generate opportunity.

It's just not as simple as you and I would look at it. Especially with NIL in play. My nephew uses his social media to push the products and services he is contracted with.
