I honestly believe if they lose Wrightsell that could put them in a tailspin. They had no business losing to Oregon last night and they really struggled in that tournament overall. They struggled with a Rutgers team who literally only has 2 players and then an average Houston team who aren’t who we thought they were in the beginning of the season. As for Sears, I think it’s really simple: he’s peaked at UAT. He was never an NBA talent and people prop him up because of his numbers but didn’t take into account that he has been surrounded by elite talent since he has been there and makes him look much better than he is, it’s why he came back this year, he would be overseas if he didn’t come back.

Sears lives at the free throw line by throwing his head back over and over again after initiating contact. It’s infuriating that refs continue to give him that call.

Yea, that’s one of the annoying things I hate about basketball in general. The offensive player will initiate contact and then act like someone shot them and they get the call. I believe Sears averages like 10 trips to the FT line a game.

He flops more than LeBron. It drives me insane that they keep falling for it

To be fair, most guards are taught to drive to the basket and act like a soccer player and fake getting hurt, ??. But yea, there are a few players that are so egregiously faking their fouls that the refs start to assume that the reason they are acting that way must be because they got foul.

Typical. Vols are overrated this year. We will beat them by double digits when we play them at home.

Auburn #2 in the AP…26 1st place votes to Kansas’s 35. No other teams received 1st place votes.

I will allow it. We keep playing like we have been we are going to make our way up to that #1 seed in March.

What is wild, is teams tend to be more discombobulated early in the year while they start meshing....Curious to see if we continue to get better as well.

I'd rather walk in to Cameron #2.

AP doesn’t mean anything any more.

Just make it #1 at the end of the season

After Alabama got passed around as the SEC's bitch to end the season and then kickstarts their way to the final four during the tournament I don't think anything matters.

It seems the staff has wrapped up the high school portion of recruiting (unless somebody is hearing about a player in the shadows). With Tahaad and Howard returning (optimistic Howard and the staff work through his maturity issues), AU has 5 scholarship players for next season. No surprise but it's going to be a huge portal year for Bruce. Hopefully a nice season this year will help with attracting transfers and NIL funding.

I mean, Bama's success in the tournament last year shows that the draw you get in the tournament at least is a huge deal. While Bama definitely kicked it up a notch in the tournament, their draw was cake as hell, and a bunch of BS. Even the best team in their region in UNC was perfectly suited to them being a fast paced team without great defense.

AA7 I’m not disagreeing but they say guard play but I think it’s more of a finisher at the rim. Can be a guard or a wing in my opinion but someone that can make plays without chunking up 3s late in games. Denver has done a good job of that so far. He settles sometimes for the 10 foot jumper but I think by the end of season he will be much more comfortable driving plus put the ball in CBM’s hands as well late in the game.

Yeah, having this makes Bruce's offense hum. Chuma basically did this as Point forward in our tournament run before injury, and of course Harper had great drive skills.

I feel like Denver, CBM, Pettiford, and Kelly are all doing a decent job of this at different times, which gives a lot more hope for the postseason this year.

Still currently number 1 in KenPom after tonight’s loss. Defense took a big hit in metrics tho

Well yeah. They want their win to look great. I want our wins against Houston, and UNC to look good too but it does not appear that will happen. Bama just ran them out of their gym.

Houston will be a nice win for the metrics over the course of the year even with their underwhelming start. UNC just isn't very good.
