How hard is it for security to check people's bags? It takes 10 seconds per person at most.
I'll still sneak booze in easily though.
This story will sound like complete and utter bullshite. At ADay a couple years ago, I was talking to one of the guards and asked him what the funniest shite he had seen was. He told me that a group of guys got a keg into the stadium by putting it in a wheelchair and dressing it up to an actual game. The guards even said that they hated to confiscate it and kick the kids out but there were several complaints about it by some others near it.

It is a sign of the times. Sad, but Auburn is not alone in this type policy.

Every year the Athletic Dept creates new and exciting ways to make me stay home. I can't park where I had parked for years, I can't tailgate where I used to without paying, now the Mrs and my girls (no pics) can't take their purses to watch the shitshow that is Auburn Football? My 60" will be getting more use this fall.

and it still costs more and more to go through the gate too. For the price of season tickets for one you can buy a pretty solid projector set up. For the price of two season tickets, you can buy a nice projector set up or big arse flat screen with wall mount. If you have four tickets, you can buy a pretty badass surround system to go with it.
I live about two hours away and i finally gave up my tickets a few years ago because I found myself only going to a few games a season that I gave a shite about due to the drive, parking and headache of getting in and out of Auburn. It got to be such a hassle to go, almost felt like a chore.

I felt like that last year.

Well to be fair that's in the student section.
No that photo is not in the student section
I guess it's your picture so you should know.
That looked like the old Jumbotron to the left. That's what made me think it was the student section.

Well to be fair that's in the student section. They don't give a shite whether they bring stuff in or not as long as you aren't already plastered going in.
That's not the case anymore. For the past 3 years I haven't entered the student section without being fully patted down
Cops hate you then man. I've been going in the student section for the past 6 years and maybe got patted down like 2-3 times total.

Then you should stay home.
America is all about choices.

Did the keg have a ticket?

yeah. They told me the guys dressed it up and just took it through the gate like a person in a wheelchair. They even parked it in a wheelchair spot on the landings.

Well, crap... my best friend in the world, through high school and Auburn and up to now, died in heart surgery today. One year younger than me. Fine Auburn Man. Wife, two kids.
Perspective hits hard.
my good buddy and best friend, Jim. See you when my time comes.
Perspective hits hard.

We are so scared as a society that I can't bring a diaper bag in for my 8 month old.
Yea because no terrorist would ever use that to their advantage
Such a perfect response to the OP to show that we are scared. Terrorism is a mindset and it had been fully implement (by our own government).

yep. The times changed because the people changed. Which means the process must change. It sucks but in the end, it is necessary.

It is. Those were our(father in law, wife and I) victory beers after the UGA game in 2013.
The USA flag in the background gives it away as non student.
They don't check a thing now. It's a joke. I bring pretty much whatever I want in now. They barely check women's bags as is, now they want to restrict bags... If you don't have a bag, there is no check at all. Just do the job correctly and this wouldn't be an issue.
