They’re undersized. Bruce has to recruit better in the future at these positions.

Without them “playing like guards” we don’t have a single 3 and Jabari probably scores 12 points.

No but not sure what that has to do with their size. I do think Green is a good shooter but he’s in an ungodly bad slump.

And when you say “has to recruit better at that position” I’m not sure what you want. We have lost three games all year. 2 in OT and the other by 1. Recruit better at that position or else what? Green is on the Cousy award watch list lmao

We really need Zep to be a more assertive scorer. Dude definitely puts a ton of energy into defense but he can’t keep putting up goose eggs in the scoring column.

So what we run can’t get our one shooter any clean shots? He has to create every time he touches it? Thank god he is 6’10 and has a great fade away.

Totally agree. Bruce might need to encourage him a little on that end. Plays a little on his heels on offense because doesn’t seem like he feels like a threat

Not sure he’s completely healthy plus he’s a 3 guard. And can’t defend as well as Flanigan and Cambridge. Lior and C-Mo are just in strange spots late in the season

It is what it is. UF got red hot from 3 and we still had a chance to win with the ball with 7.5 seconds. shite happens.
Also why I have been harping since we burst out to 1st place in the SEC that I want the regular season title. Just weird shot can happen in the tournament in a 1 and done situation. I want to win it all but we have to get the right draw in the bracket and play good basketball every game. Plus hope no one we go up against just gets hot in a game. Like UF today. Gonna be a crazy NCAA tourney this year.

Yep. I’d say with where auburn hoops is right now, in any given season my 2 goals are regular season SEC Title and final 4/elite 8 depending on the season. It’s a great place to be. We have a really good chance at hardware this season even if we just win 3 out of 4 here down the stretch. And you know what? We are good enough to beat anyone any given day in the tourney and that’s always good. This team won’t get blown out (I don’t think)

Yeah but that’s the tricky thing.. to those who complain about our guard recruiting... it’s extremely hard to find guards who can defend at the level Bruce wants to defend at.
You can find elite shooters all through the D2 ranks but 99.9% of them would get cooked over and over by any top 100 guard in D1. There’s a reason Justin Powell doesn’t see the court much at UT and it isn’t because he can’t shoot.
It’s a very small cross section where you find guys like Bryce Brown..

We need a shooter. Even if he is a defensive liability. We need someone to play some minutes that can knock down open threes. Bruce is the king of rotations and we have a seven footer waiting down low. We need someone to make threes.
