It’s going to be difficult. For a coach to install the brand of football this fan base wants to see, they’re going to need a couple recruiting classes of top linemen.

As long as they win, it won’t matter the kind. Auburn fans are always gonna whine. They can’t help themselves. It’s the Alabama complex that makes them that way.

Just watch this board and you will see. First they wanted a more balanced attack. Then more passing. Yesterday, more running. Gus was killing his running backs by using them too much and going with one guy. Yesterday, why isn’t Tank getting 25 carries.

There are tons of those examples here. It doesnt matter what type of system the new guy uses. If he doesn’t beat bama, LSU and Georgia without losing to teams he shouldn’t, it will need to be changed. Whoever it is, can’t make the mistake Gus did by letting the noise and ego screw him up.

I feel like Auburn will go fir a young guy. We will see.

Lanier you also have to consider not only all those things but having to deal with the background PTB. They have meddled in football for as long as football became big money business.

The sun came up today and we and every other team that plays next week will have some crappy plays, failure to execute, and coaching blunders.

Is it time for a change in coaching at AU? Probably so because of the negative attitude toward the coach. We will see how it plays out but in my opinion it will be the end of next season.

I don't think the issue was/is "Why isn't Tank getting more carries?", but rather "Why doesn't Tank get carries when we actually need him most?"...

So we need a change because of the negative attitude towards the coach, not because of poor coaching?

I don't want to get into this trashing coaching and all that. But can you identify what is or isn't poor coaching other then well that didn't work as a play?

It’s just a matter of what works. Nobody had a issue with Tre Mason running it 50 times against Mizz. You know why? It worked.

It was just another thing because they hate Gus that came up. One of many. When you dislike something or someone, everything becomes their problem. The fan base is over Gus at this time and that won’t change. Time to move on. Whatever it takes.

- Dropping the ball on OL recruiting the past 5+ years
- Failing to get a quality OL coach
- Failing to recruit the QB position and being forced to rely on a true freshman last year who was not ready to start
- Has yet to develop a QB (Except for maybe Marshall)
- Consistently struggling to scout and figure out his own team until 4-5 games into the season
- This last Saturday we saw a team that was as mentally weak as I’ve seen at Auburn since 2012

There are plenty of issues that go beyond a bad scheme/playcalling.

Herb Hand had a lot to do with the OL issue. Not saying it shouldn't be figured out a little by now but old man Grimes wasn't a bad OL coach just not a good recruiter so we have a few questionable 4 star guys and some middling 3* guys. Most of which seem very laid back and not willing to be that nasty guy you need on the OL. Was the same under Hand, Grimes, and now Bicknell. 2 of those coaches are considered top OL coaches in the game whether they are or not in reality I have no idea. Hand seems like a cancer. Everywhere he goes turns to shite.

I'm telling you to have a good QB you have to have good WRs. Our WRs can't get open consistently. As far as Bo being a true freshman he just beat out the guy who was recruited before him. No first year starter is really ready to start. Don't give me well Saban and alabama. I'm almost 50 and could QB alabama to 10 wins.

Most teams not just AU figures out wrinkles each year early. Just look at bama/ole miss. Defense looked like shite. Bama needed to make some corrections. That's called coaching. We heard the same complaints about Tuberville.

This team does seem very immature.

What's the guy's name who hired Herb Hand again?
