I know zilch about Mississippi State.

Are their fans still pumping Tommy Stevens for the Heisman? Is their defense still awesome?

I was watching football with my friend on Saturday who is a Kentucky fan and we had the UK vs Miss State game on our second screen so I'll give you a few of my thoughts from what I saw on the game.

Tommy Stevens didn't play so they are starting a true freshman on the road for the first time. Shrader is a big dude that can run (6'4 240 lbs.). Kentucky however, was in their backfield a lot during that game. They probably missed a chance to sack him or tackle him near the line of scrimmage nearly 10 times, and each time they missed him he turned it up field for a big gain. Based on that, I think we will be able to get some pressure on him, but we will need to finish the play and get him down to the ground.

Kylin Hill is the real deal (he has rushed for 100 yards every game this year), but I'm not terribly concerned with our run defense being able to slow him down. 7 of Miss States 28 points came off a pick 6 on the first series of the game and they jumped out to a 21-3 lead at half. In the second half, Kentucky drove the ball on them then entire half and could not capitalize in the red zone. They settled for short field goals most of the day and poor Chance Poore missed two of them. As a final note, Kentucky was running the ball just fine (they were averaging 7 yards per carry if you take out QB sacks), but since they were down so much early they kind of abandoned the run. They only ran it 23 times for 160 yards.

All of that to say, I wasn't terribly impressed. We should be able to handle them at home pretty easily as long as we continue moving in the right and don't have a let down game.

I like Auburn 38 -17.

Damn.

Poor Chance Poor.

I think that rb is a real threat, but it seems hard to even guess what Miss State will look like.

I think we win it, but I also think we win it ugly.

30-24 - Auburn

Final MSU TD will be in the last 5 mins of the game to give the illusion that it was closer than it was.

This.

They'll be a tough test, especially if Joe decides to selectively un-suspend his defensive starters this week. And not knowing which QB to prepare for has been an issue for us in similar situations in the past.

State gets a couple of FG. Gatewood plays mop up, and scores at least one TD.

Think it won’t be as bad but close to 2017

Y’all don’t think Kevin Steele is pissed about last year.

They caught us at the perfect time. Time to preform some payback

I've gone back and forth on this game. Miss St absolutely beat our arse last year. They ran it down our throats with zero resistance. Part of me believes this will rear its ugly head again and we will be in for a dog fight.

However, looking at how focused our boys are and how locked in Gus is, the revenge factor is playing big in my prediction.
