Well gotta say after the 1st quarter performance I was not expecting this final score. I’m pleasantly surprised, and especially impressed after the half and adjustments we made. I have no doubt we lose this game with freeze still in charge. We would’ve been demoralized after the 1st quarter.

Well hope Mercer wins their championship!

When did Riddick get hurt? Saw him without shoulder pads and his left arm in a sling as the game ended.

They announced earlier in the week he had season ending surgery.

Agree. Man, without CHF we AT LEAST have 3 more wins. Objectively Kentucky, Missouri and probably Georgia.

Okay. I missed that somehow.
Thanks

My fandom has officially hit rock bottom. I completely forgot we played a game and didn't give one thought to it until 5 min. ago and checked to see the score and it was already over. Looks like it was some backyard ball athlete fest by the box score.

It was touch and go in the 1st quarter

then we scored two TDs in the last 90 seconds of the first half and basically ran away with it
ETA: Deuce’s debut as starter was mildly impressive

Can’t you just feel the game plan- my PTSD is on creative over-drive.
Opening drive- 3 and out.
We go down 7-0.
Second possession- Jackson pressing…taking sacks. Missing receivers. Running game stuffed.
We go down 14-0.
Wheels emotionally fall off and it’s NM State part II.

Absolutely, I can definitely feel it. Sumbitch was a charlatan

Duece’s performance against a decent FCS team shows that CHF was totally checked out. CHF based on the last two games had a total and complete mis-read on the QB room, talent on the field and how to game plan and call a game. Complete and utter failure from CHF.
I don’t think this validates Durkin as much as it indicts CHF
In fact these past two games infuriate me- what a waste of our roster’s potential.

We beat Alabama A&M by a score of 73-3 last season. Hugh Freeze really didn't have trouble destroying cupcake opponents either.
We looked how we should have looked like vs. an FCS team. Yes, Mercer is "good" on offense, but their defense looked like an FCS defense - they were nowhere near the ball on those Deuce Knight TD runs (apart from the one where two guys somehow failed to tackle him). I don't get what some of you are trying to hype up here.
Even Jackson Arnold was 3 for 5 with 2 clear easy drops (ie: he should have been 5 for 5 passing) with a ~55 yard TD run.

I am bot hyping today as much as just looking at the last two weeks and the fact that the offense has completely opened up. The biggest change being CHFs removal.
Your point is taken, but we were solid against Vandy too in a way we haven’t seen against a good SEC opponent in a long time.

AAMU game was the outlier

South Alabama this year and New Mexico St a couple years ago would beg to differ.
I know they arent FCS teams but they're still "cupcakes/buy-a-win teams scheduled for auto wins.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just having fun watching Auburn win a football game.
