I haven't looked back to see if it was mentioned but Jovic injured his knee in the 1st half and wasn't even on the bench in the 2nd. no word on the severity yet but it feels like bad news is coming

I told you then Steven wasn't the guy. But of course Randy didn't listen.
You will not find one post from me saying Steven was a good hire.

On3 already announced it was not season ending, timetable unclear though

Being Bruce's son afforded him the opportunity but the standard will cost him
Well put, I can't decide if I think Bruce did the right thing by him or not. Obviously he will make enough money to retire off of if he wanted to but Bruce had to know this team wasn't going to be very good and given all the reasons you mentioned a big time down year was always going to reflect really, really poorly on Steven even though it's not all his fault.

was reminding myself all last season that it would never be this good again. It was difficult at times because we looked so good so early which immediately raised the expectations through the roof but by the middle of SEC play I was honestly enjoying every game.
We were elite and expected as much in the offseason beforehand. I remember confidently telling SOG (while they were still in March Madness tournament and while they were jeering at Auburn) that next season would come down to Auburn and Alabama. I was mostly right except I didn't factor how good Florida would be at the end of season.
I also have receipts saying March of 2025 "we are no longer the best team in the nation- Florida is, and we will lose in the Final 4." So we weren't the most elite team, but much of the season we were top dog. I enjoyed every bit of it. We could not afford a backup 4 which is disappointing for a roster built on a grand culmination of experience for a blow off top, but the culmination of talent was so obvious all we had to worry about is getting tired.
Last year was special.!

We’ve all heard about Bruce trying to get one; but that doesn’t diminish the fact he left him handicapped and a long way from ever getting one without us ponying up QB1 money. Starting off at this level with this team is throwing your son to the wolves.
Tough Love - but maybe it’ll make him stronger in the long run.

I'd be fine if my dad left me to fail in my job for a year or two if "failing" meant I would be a 40 year old who never had to work again.

Well, we’re really a couple of guys away from stepping up here. We’ve lost 3 close games, final possession and 3 blowouts to final 4 teams. UM may not lose. This is a great opportunity. Everyone has to learn. Plus the SEC has a hard on for Cohen and it’s beyond obvious at this point. A/M hacked the shite out of us all night. Not to mention the most bs call ever over turning the basket at the end. I’ve yet to see a clear still image of the final shot. Why are all of them blurry, the ball isn’t even round

I do wish Minnie Pearl would clean up his language at post game pressers. Yeah I know we all curse on this board a lot, me included, but I’m not the head coach of a major P4 basketball team. He reflects poorly on Auburn and it looks and sounds trashy.

Supposedly the SEC has told SP that they have "undisputable evidence" that the overturned basket was correct, buuutttttt, they're not providing said evidence. lol. typical SEC garbage. I know we get some built in benefits by being in the SEC, but sometime i wish we could leave. I'm not saying join the ACC, but couldn't we go to the B1G? they're not that far behind the SEC are they?

If they have it (they don’t) they need to show it.

They refuse to be like the ACC showing us behind the scenes, all because they know they'd look like complete crap.

Pissing and moaning about the refs is a favorite auburn pass time which becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I love my school, but it’s one of the things I hate about this fan base. We whine about shite we can’t control more than any fanbase I know.
Posted on 1/8/26 at 6:21 pm to TailbackU
Every school does this for better or worse. LSU is the worst about it. I try not to be a ref hater because while I think they are the most incompetent professionals there are it usually evens out. However, we have been getting boned hard repeatedly recently in multiple sports. Hopefully the law of averages starts catching up soon.

The SEC in all major sports is highly competitive and most games come down to a few plays. So when you’re constantly getting jobbed on a few critical plays. You will lose more than you win. It also weighs on all teams mentally.
Of course I’ve never seen a game winner overturned without clear evidence. Oh wait…
