Because he HAS to be right. And when he’s wrong, he’ll just delete posts/tweets like he always does.
It’s telling that he won’t even give vague ideas as to where this “pushback” is coming from.

People always talk about Auburn being Auburn’s own worst enemy, but I will say it again, it’s the press. It really is like Auburn beat writers will do whatever they can to make Auburn look bad. They all are a problem and always have been. Hoke is just another in a long line.

I'd hope they'd say please no if they felt it

News making Auburn look bad makes more money. They figured that out a while ago.

I don't even think it's really all of the beat writers as much as it is the paysite guys.
Yeah, people have issues with Justin Lee, but he's been giving Harsin shite for a while because Harsin hasn't given any of them the time of day. JFerg is probably the best we've got, and I think that mostly stems from him running his own company now that focuses less on rumors and conjecture, and more on direct on-field things. The AL.com guys are hit or miss, with Goodman being the biggest miss (although I think he's more of a general sports writer for AL.com than just Auburn specific).
But Ron Sanders, PAM, Hoke, Tate, and those who have been around for forever are terrible, mostly due to them having a sense of entitlement about A: their level of information they deserve to be given from so called "sources", and B: being completely incapable of adapting their "reporting" when they're scooped because said sources were wrong.
Coincidentally, all of them had their own sites that eventually got bought out by the big boys.

I remember Roy Williams having a beef with an AD at Kansas but don’t remember the exact scenario

I have been reading and listening to national guys. All say Cohen would be a grandslam. The only thing I can find is MSU fans and his kid.
Posted on 10/31/22 at 7:44 am to AUCE05
And why do they say he’s a grand slam?

Well respected within the AD community. Accomplishments at MSU. Really smart guy who will be an actual AD. Not a figure head.

I remember the last AD we had who went this route. Not saying it’s a bad thing but that one led to disastrous consequences.

If you guys want a guy that will raise some money and get us nice things, it needs to be someone connected to the guys with the cash like it or not

Are you really that dumb? Has anyone introduced you to internet search engines? What you do, type in a few key words and it pings the internet for results. Be careful, it does not scan the deep webz. Also, there is a musician named John Cohen, so don't think he moonlights in a different career.

Improved facilities. Built the new baseball stadium which is amazing if you haven’t seen it. New home locker room/recruiting center and has plans for a renovation of the Hump.
Hired Chris Lemonis who brought MSU their one and only championship in any team sport in history.
Hired Leach which for MSU was a pretty decent hire.
Ran an athletic department vastly smaller than AUs yet while Auburn was running in a deficit he had MSU with over $20M in surplus.
There was also ZERO talk about Cohen not being retained by MSU until the Auburn job surfaced then all of a sudden state fans had to start saving face. Know several State alums who have been pretty happy with what he has done and find that narrative really out of left field.

Which they needed. Why is that a big accomplishment? That’s akin to saying Greene did a great job by keeping Pearl and giving him what he wanted. Anyone would have done that.

For a sport that MSU has been good at for quite some time.

And currently has a .500 record at State.

And how did this occur? Raised funds? Pinched pennies? Cut waste?

Several you say?

At the time, it was a fricking grand slam coup that MSU got him.

My only concern with Cohen is not his political views but his wife, who is apparently pretty political publicly.

Isn't it amazing how bad someone becomes at their job when there's a chance they might leave?
