"The day Rhett left" is a really amorphous concept
no, it's really not. rhett officially left seven days ago.

"Listen, I've got some pretty big issues with my QBs. This could extend to my WR corps and this season could turn into a real shite show. I'm going to let Rhett go at the end of the season, if things don't shape up. I'd like to get you on board here, if that happens. What do you think?"

Then check in with those who showed interest every couple of weeks. Start talking strategy.

If anyone wants a potentially positive spin on Yurcich publicly pulling his name out:

Jason Caldwell:

Robert Allen from our Oklahoma State site confirmed that he's removed his name. Most of the time that happens publicly when a guy knows he's not going to get a job.

He's not wrong... we'll know for sure if a hire is made within the next day or two.

yurcich would've been a solid hire but hardly worth melting over.

Just because things got screwed up once [Jetgate], doesn't mean that planning and securing new coaches shouldn't and doesn't happen this way.

Believe what you want.

Watch Gus manipulate this shite so he eithey gets Hand or Lindsey. Oh well if we win then I'm happy and if Gus digs his own grave then it's on him.

A lot of people here thought there was a "plan in place" when Rhett got gone. Guess not.

More than likely what happened, someone above Gus told him to make the change. Gus did not want too but followed orders. New person is going to come in and its going to be a Tony Franklin situation again. 2008 resumes.

We will waste all the talent we have this season due to squabbling leaders.

Neither you, nor I, nor anyone on this board has a clue if a plan is in place. The premelt is entertaining, though, I'll give ya that.

I will disagree with you here. I believe that an OC sees Stidham and a great recruiting class of WR sitting there along with Heisman talent at RB. Regardless of Gus' seat heat there is a chance to get a team to look amazing and be a savior. The biggest deterrent I see is hard headed Gus meddling. An OC will have to make that decision based on his conversation. Even if the year goes bust and Gus gets canned the OC will have the "Gus would not let me do it argument" to move on. And I am sure he will have a nice package to console him based on current contracts.

Any reasonable person would think this way. Otherwise, just wasting time and energy.
