This is just too much good news in one move, it’s not possible.

Announcing the OC on Sunday would still give us a lift for national signing day but would limit the amount of time that the program he’s leaving from could scramble to keep those recruits.

Just wanted to say that we should not let the NCAA news hide the fact that we still haven't got a new OC.

Word on the street is Norm Chow has shown interest.

Thanks for nothing.

I just love when a thread gets bumped up, bc someone wants to just say what you said...

I'm not sure why I have to be the one to break this to you, but this type of behavior is a fairly regular occurrence on message boards, including this one...

The ghost of Bill Walsh is interviewing as we speak. I'll post again when more information is available.

ETA: student22 says he doesn't think Harsin is even actively looking right now and will probably wait until after signing day before he starts interviewing candidates again. tifwiw

The OC search has been halted while they focus on recruiting. The big thing here: having an open coaching spot means that we can take Trovon Reed on in-home recruiting visits (which is why he's been in so many of the pictures posted). He has been huge with the Louisiana kids we're after, and he is very well liked by recruits during on-campus visits, so there seems to be some strategy with regards to utilizing him as a recruiter right now.

Harsin can sell his offensive plans/identity by himself, and any new OC we bring in would only be able to make a difference with whatever recruits they already have relationships with. So other than Dell McGee being name tomorrow, Trovon Reed is a better asset to close out this recruiting class.

Also, Hokanson is now saying that Frank Ponce seems to be out. There seems to be growing anticipation that Harsin will/wants to call plays.

Dilly is still getting traction. I don't understand it, but maybe Hars just wants a recruiter. Dilly is a decent recruiter.

From the outset I've wondered about Keyz to OC and Trovon to WR coach and focus on recruiting

I never thought about this, but it makes sense.

I'll allow it.

What’s the hold up in getting CDC then? Great recruiter. Check. Played QB. Check. He gets his promotion. Checkk

JGT said Harsin had a long telephone conversation with the Seattle Seahawks QB coach

Next step is to hopefully meet in person. Probably next week

Seattle has a game in Houston on Sunday

Hokanson is now reporting that Davis looks like the clear front-runner. I would be very happy with that. NFL-level QB coach and I bet he ends up being a dynamic recruiter.

JGT saying that too. It’s not a bad pickup.

Little inexperienced.

Walked on at Southern Miss. Got the starting job as redshirt freshman. Ended up setting nearly every Southern Miss passing record (a lot were owned by Brett Favre). Journeyman in the NFL.

Assistant QB coach for 1 year with Seahawks
QB for last 2 years with Seahawks

No college experience
