Well I heard from my inside source that every single player for Auburn will have both arms covered by sleeves and Washington just banned arm sleeves.

Also to be fair, the interception Cox threw against Bama was because you could read that play from a mile away and the OL collapsed, the throw its self was actually sort of impressive considering he's not a QB. The WR nearly caught it and the DB made a great play to come up with it,

GusBus on scrimmage this morning (from al.com):
quote:

-- Focus was on two-minute and end of game situations, special teams, etc.

-- Scrimmage was for second and third-teamers.

-- Will practice Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week then off Saturday.

-- Shaun Shivers stood out today. "Ran with a purpose today. ... He plays bigger than he is."

-- Griffin King also stood out at receiver in the scrimmage.

-- Kam Martin has developed some trust of being on the field in bigger spots.

-- Offensive line has not "named starters yet" but "we're close" to getting it figured out.

-- Jack Driscoll has stood out for athleticism and toughness.

-- Nick Brahms has been doing some one-on-one pass protection this week, could do more before the season.

-- Malik Miller's injury in camp was a "soft tissue" issue and not major.

-- Still no call on punter. "We will be better at the punting game than we were last year." It'll be who earns it by their numbers and who the coaches trust.

More on Shivers:
quote:

"He made a lot of plays, a lot of great plays today in the scrimmage. You can tell he had great track speed. ... He ran over a lot of people, a lot of people. He runs tough."
-Kam Martin
quote:

"I think he can give us a big-play dimension and just the speed element on the perimeter," Horton said. "But he's not just a McCalebb, he's not going to be just a perimeter guy, he's got the ability to run between the tackles as well. ... He's tough. He's been that way his whole life. He started playing football when he was four.
-Horton

After talking about Joiner having a good day too, Malzahn:
quote:

"We're starting to develop some depth (at running back)," Malzahn said. "It's yet to be seen, exactly how everything is going to play out. I think probably after the third or fourth game, I think it'll be evident. But it's good right now that we have options."

Ahhh Gus, sticking with the four game plan. Just once, just ONE time, I would love to have something, anything, figured out before game 3/4.

It’s like this board completely forgot about 2014. We were incredible at the beginning of the season.

I've heard all the hype on Shivers but I just can't believe it until I see it in a game.
