I am just not sold on Pearl. How long does it take? Been here awhile now.

At what point does he realize defense is important? He can get us the points but Pearl's defensive game has been atrocious. We gave up 100 points to fricking Barry. It's the same shite every year. We can't stop anyone.

We've gone from Barbee where we played great defense and no offense to Pearl with all offense and no defense

Berry is always very good, but I think they are called Hoover now.

I'm not worried about an exhibition game, where we shot 3-20 3FG and clearly didn't look like we wanted to be there.

Also, Purifoy enjoyed the game from Skybar

You can admit it's embarrassing. And concerning. They have 2,500 undergrad students and play in 1,500 seat health and wellness center.

Ya of course it is embarrassing.

I'm just not worried because of this one bad game. If we come out next week looking like this, then I'll be worried

Not sure if it was during game or after but it's what I heard.

Not like he had anywhere else to be

Has Auburn regressed under Bruce compared to the Barbee era?

We are still lightyears ahead of Barbee era + the ~2 scholarship players he gave us

There is no shame in ending the program outright. These things happen from time to time. We could look into picking up wrestling or men's soccer. I'm completely okay with shutting down the program entirely.

Not a great start... My biggest concern is the same problems that have plagued us under Pearl were still there clear as day tonight. Cold shooting. Poor defense. My hope is this was a wake up call to kids and they come out playing with a bit more fire next week. Still think team can be good, has enough talent to be a solid, but the continued struggles defensively don't make me feel good....

The defensive struggles at this point really are inexcusable, especially when all off-season they've been talking about how they are priding themselves on defense this year. They played some pretty good shut down D in Italy. Hoping this was just a one game fluke.

Me too I just have come to expect disappointment when it comes to bball these days

I still think team could be really fun to watch but this was definitely a painful way to kick things off

This is as good as it gets. Recruiting is already suffering from the pending doom.

If this team scores 100, what will SEC opponents do?
