If you rehash the season.........we started playing ball differently after we got the #1 ranking. That went to their heads. We can't figure out how to get out of that funk. There are too many guys reading their press clippings, IMO.

Agree completely. Our team hasn’t been impressive since the road game in Tuscaloosa followed by the home win against Kentucky.

It’s been a drastic drop off ever since the #1 ranking.

Come on. Nothing to do with that.
Teams saw some teams that guarded us different and now most teams know how to pressure our small gusrds and pack it inside too.

It’s so easy to find something arbitrary like a ranking to make it so simple a reason.

Yep and the shooting has just gone downhill. We aren’t shooting like shite just because a ranking went to our heads lol

We blew out Bama after the #1 ranking. We won all our home games.

We only stayed #1 for a 3 weeks so how could the #1 ranking effect our shooting when we were #2 or lower for 7-8 weeks?

I’m not buying the thought that we started falling off because of the #1 ranking. I think it’s mostly a combination of guys hitting a shooting slump and teams learning how to scheme against us.

The good news is we seem to a momentum team that if we get rolling it’s hard to stop us. We’ve just got to get things rolling again, and in a short amount of time.

I don’t think being ranked #1 has anything to do with our shooting woes. Nobody knows why our team is struggling the way they are. Probably a combination of things

Defensive team. We generally aren't going to blow decent teams out like 91-67. But are good enough when playing normal pace and shooting at just a normal percentage we can win 80-68ish.

I expect Bruce to setup 2-4 special plays to get the ball where we need it 3-4 times a game and rep it in our normal flex offense but not much we can change. Just energy, compete, hopefully shoot a normal percentage outside, see what happens.

We don’t move much in our half court offense. Dribble dribble, maybe set a high screen, then take a three or drive. It’s pretty much that or give it to Jabrari and play iso ball. Jabrari isn’t quite there with the dribble to require double teams. No one on our team requires to be double teamed, which means we need to move more pass more to get shots

Yeah it’s scheme adjustments and us responding by shooting worse and worse. You aren’t gonna be #1 and go wire to wire in a conference this good unless you just have far superb talent. It’s a long arse season and it gets tougher and tougher as the scouting gets out.

because of shot selection. AGAIN, go back and look ay how we played early in the season. We are playing dumber, trying to play showtime bball, after the #1 ranking.

I think we were just doing about everything we could do and pressing ourselves trying to hold on at the end to win the conference. Probably took a couple days off to rest up and then came out to a hot aTm team and added shooting like shite. Still with a minute to go were only down 4. Lost by 5. Everyone has had loses like that. We need to play better but nothing can take away how amazing this season has been. Get to the sweet 16 and you never know what might happen. It will be a disappointing post season if we don't get to the round of 16 but this season in perspective has been huge to build around for years to come.

An advanced stats service called ShotQuality said we should’ve decisively won the A&M game based on each team’s shot selection. We missed a lot of point blank looks that the defense was giving up.

Truth. We had many great looks. We actually played very well on offense other then scoring. Just one of those days.

That’s what was so crazy. Almost every shot was a good one. A lot of those threes were completely uncontested. I would love to see Wendell’s 3% on contested shots vs uncontested for the year. Same with KD.
