quote:That's an amazing stat, but only one player in AU history, ever had a triple double. Tonight, Kessler was 2 blocks away from his 3rd this season!
I’ve read elsewhere that this is Bruce’s 4th 25 win season his last 5 years at Auburn. Only 1 such season at Auburn before Pearl

And if my math is correct AU is 119-41 in the last 5 years which is a remarkable record and even more so considering last year we were 13-14.

Think we need to audit his tape to see if he had the 2

I don't think he had 2 more blocks.

UK losing @ Arkansas right before our game @ UT would take a lot of pressure off. I see no easy wins on our schedule. USCe is on a tear and playing @ MSST is always tough. Going to be an interesting finish.

Agreed. Really was hoping LSU could get it done last night without the UK backcourt.

KY has always (at least under Cal) been good at drawing fouls early in the game and getting the other teams best players in early foul trouble. After this happens they do not have to be aggressive on defense and can coast to the win.

A poll:
Tomorrow does Bruce make it 7 straight wins against Tennessee?
I personally don’t see it but Bruce has proven to be their daddy time and time again.
Upvote for yes. Downvote if no.
Provide your reasoning to the board if you’d like
And then give your predictions for the Arky- Kentucky game.

I like our chances more after Wednesday’s game. Seems like we shot a lot better.
I did not know we’re on a six game winning streak against them.

I fear we lose but only because it feels like we are due to lose to them lol

Tennessee hasnt lost in that gym since last year as well. Although we have won the last two trips there

I think we lose a close one in a low scoring game at UT. While I was encouraged with our guard play against Ole Miss, this one is on the road, against a very good defensive team with Nike Balls.
I think Arkansas pulls a close one out against Kentucky this weekend, but I would not be surprised at all to see the refs hand this one to UK with some well timed calls/no calls or early foul calls against Notae.

A challenge.
Defense travels well.
We have a good chance to win.
They are good.
We are too.

We need a big win away from Auburn against another tournament team to get some momentum going in the right direction for March.
Definitely going to be a a big challenge, but not a matchup I'm super afraid of. Tennessee is a great defensive team, much like Auburn, but lost their best post play (led the team in blocks and rebounds), which should be a positive for Kessler. They are a guard centric team, that kind of lives or dies by the 3 offensively (UT has the 2nd most made 3 pointers with the 2nd best 3 point FG%). The good news we have two of the best defensive guards in the country, and Kessler protecting the rim. If we lose, it will most likely be another close game like the UF game, where UT just hits some big shots down the stretch at home.
I expect big game Jabari to show up as he has in most big games this year, and I expect the same from Kessler unless the refs decide to put him in foul trouble. It will most likely come down to guard play, as it often does for us. KD needs a bounce back game and Zep might need to start taking more shots after last game ( he was a very efficient scorer at College of Charleston).
I think we pull this out for a few reasons: 1) Bruce and his players do get up for this game and the 6 game winning streak is no coincidence and 2) I think it is likely a close game, as both these teams are very similar in a lot of ways, and I don't think we blow another close game down the stretch if given the chance. Either way it should be a fun one.
