The read option is their go-to and the backbone of their offense. Wallace isn't Cam-sized or Cam-fast, but he consistently makes good decisions and gets a few yards with almost every carry.

Ole Miss and their read option requires you to make sound reads and tackles. Bo Wallace is one of the best at running the read option from a decision making perspective which allows him to gain yards consistently despite his athletic ability.

Bo Wallace- Arm strength was subpar last year before his offseason surgery. His arm strength is subpar compared to his already weak arm last year. Running the read option, he typically does a very solid job running the RO and consistently picks up yards.

Jeff Scott- Jeff Scott is like OMac except a little slower straightline speed and a huge upgrade in lateral quickness. Positive for Auburn is he is the anti Jeremy Hill at 5'7 175. It is more an issue of making sound reads and our DB's making plays on the perimeter rather than having Jake Holland getting bulldozed

Passing Game: Bo Wallace's arm strength may make Chris Todd's passes look like Cam Newton's, but he has done great in his progressions this year. He is throwing just over 60% with no interceptions despite playing Vandy, Texas and Bama, all major opponents with talent. While we don't have to worry too much about being beat deep, intermediate passing routes have been extremely effective for Ole Miss

The wide receivers Treadwell and Moncreif play extremely physical and are threats in the middle of the field. Add in the emergence of Evan Ingram in the passing game and Ole Miss has an extremely dangerous physical passing game in the middle of the field.

Approx height/weight
Treadwell 6'3 215
Moncreif 6'3 226
E Ingram 6'1 225

I'd imagine the size of their receivers and their consistent trend of throwing to them in the middle of the field will make it hard to see smaller guys like J Garrett playing WLB as their main WRs/TE are bigger than him. Unfortunately, Jake Holland sucks a dick and will get bulldozed too so this matchup scares the shite out of me

Ole Miss really suffers from not having a physical RB who can pick up yard inside... scott can't do it. Wallace might be their most physical runner (if you could call him that).

The last two defenses they've faced have been on opposite ends of the spectrum... texas is one of the worst while bama made be the best. It's really hard to guage how good they are offensively b/c of who they've played.

IMO, we'll see much better play calling and decision making from Wallace and Freeze this saturday... it's going to take our best defensive effort to date to win.

Jeff Scott is averaging 10.75 carries a game.
Bo is averaging 11.
Barry Brunetti is averaging 7.

I think we have more talent then Ole Miss. The game will come down to if our o-line can block their very active and physical d-line. I think we can and will!

AU- 38
OM- 27

We're the more talented team, and it really isn't that close 1-85. Our 2 deep IS more talented. Now its just a matter of our guys continuing to progress in their newfound development thanks to Gus and Co.

I think we run all over them.

I think the way our OL pushed around LSU was more an indication of how soft they are up front than it was a sign our OL has turned the corner... I hope I'm wrong on that, but I suspect the answer to just how good our OL is lies somewhere between their MSU performance (pretty crappy) and their LSU performance (significantly better).

UGA had their way with LSU the entire game... not only did they gash them with the run, they didn't allow much (if any) pressure on Murray.

For us to beat good teams, we've gotta break the 200 yards rushing threshold... that's going to be difficult to do on Ole Miss's physical front seven. They're vulnerable to the pass, but I'm not sure Marshall is quite there yet.

With the combination of through the tackles (CAP and Mason) and around the edge speed (Grant) I would think we can accomplish this. Has OM face a team with both a speed back and a power back?

they haven't faced an OL as good from left to right as ours is.

I won't go as far to say that ours is the best in the SEC, but it's awful close.

For the read option, I would just tell our read DE to just key on the qb and let the rest of the defense stop the RB. Put Wallace on his arse.

Our OL has the potential to be great, but they need to be consistent game to game.... we're just one game removed from not being able to run much on MSU... granted, their pass protection was good.

Last year the simplest of blitzes gave us fits... now we're picking them up and have a QB who can make the guys that do get through miss.... it's night and day.

We are 4th in the conf in rushing and that is due to our OL play. NM has only been sacked 4x...that is also due in part to our OL play.

And it should be MAYBE 2 sacks. Marshall has held the ball too long and took bad sacks at least 2 times that i remember.

Let's wait a few more games before we start throwing out accolades like that. They have to put together back to back games of playing consistently first.

Jay Tate's rundown was interesting in that he brought up Nick Marshall and the fact that he has yet to step up. Brought up the fact that if he doesn't show improvement this game, we should start the hot seat process and think about if he is the answer

That is true. If Marshall can come out of the gate accurate, I can't see why AU shouldn't win in a shootout. AU should be able to get 200 on the ground (UA got 254). I doubt the D gets many stops, so they'll definitely need a TO or two.

Our OLine need to figure out penalties if they are going to be the best in the league.

Guess Jay Tate missed the final drive of the MSU game.
