Our defense is weak against the better offenses, that's for sure. We are not an elite unit.

Thought we executed SP's game plan perfectly against Bama and they scored 96 points. Ran them off the 3 point line and for the most part forced somewhat tough 2's. If we had a rim protector the somewhat tough 2's get thrown in to the second row or they don't even get attempted and they settle for worse 3's.

Adjusted stats tell a truer story than yours do. Ask the Patriots.

We played them exactly the way Bama wanted. We should have attacked them all game long and not keep chucking up threes on offense.

Dont get me wrong a Denver Jones and a Cardwell would have helped defensively but they're nowhere to be found. The dudes on our team give the laziest close outs and our team needs to pack it in for our defense to work.

"Last in the SEC in giving up a team 3 point shooting percentage of 35.7" doesnt get anybody to a championship game so miss me with the Patriots

And btw you are saying we only need a Denver Jones and another big man when Steven criticized Pettiford's defense throughout the presser.

So are you saying Denver as PG or as a 3 and D. Either way you slice it you are just agreeing with me in a smug, short haired Karen New Yorker type of way

Denver as PG. Pettiford's defense is abysmal and he is not a pg.

We shot 28 treys at 32%. Probably 2-3 ill advised ones for sure but nothing too extravagant.

I have a hard time watching this team because of the pg play and defensive limitations but they really aren't a bad team at all and will be in the NCAAT a year after losing almost everyone.

I've been consistent on this, but how this team does or doesn't fare will not write SP's story. That said, I think SP is doing a pretty good job with this group.

As usual I think you're alright.

This team is not bottom of the barrel. The top 7 isnt anyways.
Keyshaun Hall is a premier scorer and will be a G League guy.

Sway- Future NBA guy

Jovic- potential 4 year Auburn fan favorite

Pettiford- all the talent in the world

Freeman, Overton, and Murphy have talent but only shown flashes.

If you think this roster is bad it can definitely get worse.

Our roster is better than A&M's.

It’s middle of the pack talent. Hall and Pettiford skew that a little bit because they both are elite scorers but are mediocre/bad on the defensive side. We’ve been very spoiled with our best players being elite on both sides of the court.

Chuma, Bryce, Okoro, Jabari, Broome, Walker, CBM, Denver were all elite defenders. Hell Samir would be the best on ball defender if he was on this roster.

Yeah. McCormick, Samir and Okoro might be the best defensive backcourt we ever had.

Don't know if this is correct but it seems the AAU kids and probably most HS kids nowadays are not taught or care to defend. They transfer from one high school to another or head to Overtime Elite and it's offense and offense only to "get noticed". Couple that with some college transfers coming in that have never had defense impressed upon them. It's an uphill battle but one SP and staff have to win. I also think it's why building a nucleus of returning players can only benefit when it comes to teaching defense. Some will pick up quick, some will take a season or two, some never. Unfortunately, we have a group that at times can give you some effective minutes but it's just not consistent enough.

[Kelly] BREAKING: A Tuscaloosa judge has denied Charles Bediako’s motion for a preliminary injunction to allow him to continue playing for Alabama, per court docs @aldotcom obtained.

All games he played in should be auto forfeited. Plus there should be sanctions handed down by the NCAA. If this isn’t a level 1 infraction nothing is.

Facts. Shady cheating dirty MF’s. NIL creates parity and these arse hats go pick up NBA players that the rules say you can’t do.

At minimum should be banned from post season play

Not a minimum.

Scholarships - they added an illegal player and one for one is not a good enough future deterrent
Lack of institution control - the PTB allowed Nate and a local judge the play before asking or waiting for a reply to their breaking a written rule.
Wins - forfeiting/invalidating all that he participated in

And absolutely no post season play... because where's the penalty in not counting games they likely* would have lost

eti: *maybe not likely - but far greater underdog's
