Not entirely too hard to justify that, either.

I'm far from an optimist or a gambler, but I'd be willing to bet some folks are going to make a nice profit off of a couple of those.

To me Tennessee is a godd bet. They may get the W but it will not be by 8.

I'm with you here... that's a lot of points for a first time coaching staff and QB. Leach is in year two, so there's reason to believe they'll be better than last year.

Kinda hard to grasp that when 4 of Wazzu's starting OLs are former walk ons. Carl and Dee should have a field day feasting on the Wazzu QB.

Tough to get to the quarterback when half of the snaps are bubble screens and other quick throws. It can really minimize the impact of the pass rush. If our corners, safeties, and linebackers can't make sound plays against the short routes, it won't matter what our line does.

One thing is for sure. We will find out fast if the CBs are as good as Coach Johnson says they are.

I think Wazzou led the nation in sacks allowed last year. I'm expecting to hear Carl and Dee's names called a few times in the game.

If they haven't improved dramatically it's going to be a long season opener. When was the last time we were actually able to shut down any kind of short passing game on any kind of consistent basis? 08?

WSU gave up the most sacks in the PAC 12 last year. Hell, they gave up the most sacks in the country (117th).

Unless he upgraded his line with future NFL caliber players, I don't see how they can keep us out of their backfield.

Interesting. Obviously I was basing that on the assumption that Leach would adjust for any poor line play by using shorter routes. Apparently I was wrong. Should be interesting since they were that damn bad and will be starting four WSU caliber walkons.

WSU had a couple OL enroll this spring... a JUCO tackle and a greyshirt from 2012. They'll probably be better across the board, including the OL.

Probably not enough to withstand pressure from Dee and Carl though.
