Double adjusting rankings for Private schools is crazy. If they are successful in a sport they get moved up in classification. Same does not apply for public schools.
Madison Academy dropping to 3A is going to get some kids hurt. They dominated our region last year in 4A and made the semis in the state playoffs. They need their own classification

They seem to bounce around from 3A to 4A a lot. I think they were 3A when Kerryon was there. They should dominate 3A alot. We beat them in basketball in the regional finals one year in 3A and they had a 7 footer transfer in the next year on their team.

Oxford has pretty much the same region with Oxford, Pinson Valley and Clay-Chalkville being the main contenders (at least in football).
But I just happened to see the map and it's ridiculous how far away we are. It's at least an hour drive west for every team in the region except to Pell City.

Madison Academy has been 5A in baseball not sure if they split their sports like some of the smaller private schools.

Just imagine when Trussville was in the region with Gadsden City, James Clemons, Bob Jones, Buckhorn, and Huntsville. Talk about some long trips

It sucked. We'd enter the playoffs 10-0 but not battle tested at all.

Ben did your daughter graduate this year? Got any more coming up through school?

I like the potential of Kyle Caldwell, but it’s just unfortunate we passed on a sure thing. This is the equivalent of Auburn passing on Bruce Pearl because of his “past.” So dumb.
Wes Rogers wanted him for sure. They played JUCO baseball together.

Bobby Carr is no sure thing. I like Bob but he never won a championship where he didn’t have superior talent.
His Mississippi experiment may be an eye opener.

Were did Southside High land? I hope we fell to 5A, we can't compete in 6A in football.

They reclassified here in GA as well. We are getting screwed because a couple of the private schools who are always in the mix for State (and who recruit) got moved into 6A.

He almost never fields a team with less talent than someone else. He’s a winner.

Not comparable to Bruce’s past “hiccups” at all. Urban Meyer is a much more accurate comparison, both personally and professionally.

I'll ask a stupid question that I'm sure has an easy answer, but why is enrollment to a decimal?

I think they go by average over the 3 years or something

I actually am one of the Dora coaches haha. Should’ve been 7-7 or 14-7. We had a TD called back. Appreciate the love. We lost a lot productive seniors. It was nice to see new guys step up & compete with a program like that.
update: 7-3 regular season. 4A Region 5 champs. Hosting Good Hope tomorrow in the 1st round.
