State won't be a push over. No way we should lose to S. Carolina. bama likely won't be pretty.

8-4 was my ceiling at the start, and I'll be bummed if we don't get there.

Why? We have recruited in the top 12 or so every year.

Why the excuses for Harsin? It is a huge part of the job. He needs to get his shite together. If we have another year or two of bad recruiting classes, it will set us way back.

There is zero excuses for bad recruiting at Auburn.

I was less worried about how the season went and more so the recruiting class. Saban lost to la Monroe his first year. Kirby lost 6 games including Vandy. But they killed it recruiting. And yes, they recruited in south before. I’ll give them that. But Urban Meyer didn’t, and he had no problem coming in and recruiting right away.

You and Lanier have it figured out. I hope top 15-20 and hitting the portal hard is OK with you guys. Would that be acceptable?

The only thing acceptable is getting the guys we need to compete with Bama, LSU and Georgia. That is the standard you set with our previous coaching staff. That should not change now

Gonna fill ya in on a little secret:
The “old way” of doing things is over. The dirty little recruiting network is gone. Rodney Garner is a notorious dirty recruiter throughout the SEC. The GOBN lost power at Auburn and it really is a fresh, CLEAN start and a TOTAL rebuild on the recruiting front. Full stop.

Gus recruited stars not fit and it’s apparent, look at his o-line recruiting. He’s still coaching at UCF, go there since he’s your hero.

So now we are a clean program?

God I hope not

Do you have a single original thought or do you just read and repeat

We have recruited well the past 8 years. Yes we missed on a few areas but overall, we have recruited well

Best in our history actually.

You’re fricking stupid! If this is the truth then we should be a lot better than we are. Look at the receivers and o-line, look at the QB room. Tubs did more with 3 star classes than Gus did with his so called best ever recruiting. Your constant defense of Gus is old, find something new. Go to the UCF board!!!!

You still dont know the difference in recruiting and development

Plus, the rules are different now. Players dont stick around anymore and they dont have to. I know somewhere inside of you ,there is some intelligence and not just a dumbass that reads the internet and repeats everything they read that someone makes them feel better about their position

I hope for your sake you find that person one day and dont just show up when they is a problem and try to stir the pot

Im not defending anyone. Just stating the facts to you. You just dont want to accept them.

We recruit about 5th in the conference. We finish about 5th in the conference. With Gus, his offense did not attract OLINE and WR. Not really negative recruiting when folks told the truth

The cupboard is not completely empty.

We have lagged in recruiting top shelf linemen compared to UGA and Alabama.

A 4 star like Hudson and a bunch of guards is not the same as a Najee Harris and several 5 star line of scrimmage players.

Strangely, we are loaded at TE and it looks like we are using them this season. It probably is due to necessity. Having TEs on the field helps the offensive line, and since some of our wide receivers are converted athletes and unheralded talents, it gives Bo some guys who can catch.

I’m not arguing about Gus/Harsin. It’s pointless.

We must get better talent at the lines of scrimmage to consistently compete for championships.

We brought plenty of WR talent in. Some of the highest WR recruits in our history. We didnt develop them and some of them left and some of them were just plain old busts

Our Oline recruiting was good till the last few years where we missed on most of our targets.. There are plenty of reasons for that but thats been beat to death

Our poor development certainly hurt recruiting. Along with negative recruiting and our rivals being on a hell of a roll at that time
