Yeah but nothing will happen to others and they’ll keep their recruits. The more things change, the more they stay the same

I'd rather do it the way everyone else is doing it and be cleaning up.

Unless just like Florida when it comes time to figure up exactly how much we can actually spend we go oops that offer for 2 mill is now 250k and we look worse than waiting. This could be the first year in a while where kids wait purposefully till February to see what is actually offered.

I get it, they’re trying to do what they “understand” is right…but nobody else is doing this.

And it’s completely obvious they’re low balling recruits right now. Auburn isn’t even getting a hat on the table with a lot of guys that have spent some serious time in Auburn on visits, etc. Their current recruits are flipping.

And if that isn’t proof enough, you should listen to CD Morgan’s interview with the On3 Auburn site. He literally told them, during the interview, that Auburn “couldn’t give him a number until closer to December” in regards to NIL and revenue share.

Auburn is essentially recruiting without money talks with these guys and nobody in today’s college landscape is landing a big time recruit without talking dollar bills.

Kids in high school are getting paid to commit and shut down recruitment. We are being outbid.

Recruiting is dead

Auburn isn’t being outbid, when they aren’t even bidding. They’ve shown they can pay when it comes to recruits. They’re done it in back to back classes.

And they’ve done it against Ohio State, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, LSU, Texas, etc

Like I said, it’s obvious they have changed what they’re doing based on what they’re being told by lawyers, etc. Will it workout? I think we will know in August. Even if they’re wrong on their current understanding of the new rev share, they’ll have time to crank up the money talks with recruits like everyone else has been doing.

Oh, the prestige of the one that got away, Didn't we played that last year? And then we got PUBLICLY burnt trying to hang onto nothing.

We don't need a big splash now, we need a big splash to finish, and I don't care where they come from (but they got to flip from somewhere big).

They have to. You can't hire a coach fresh off a show cause and not expect eyes on your program, scrutinizing everything you do, waiting for you to slip up with all the new rule changes.

The problem with trying to play by the rules when nobody else is doing so is everyone else will claim ignorance and not receive near the negative optics Auburn is receiving right now. They'll blame the NCAA or someone and things will get smoothed over.

I am glad we are playing the long game but still seems our legal team is over zealous.

Thanks to my boy Jones for providing some quotes

They’ll blame NCAA, sue them and everything will be fine. Meanwhile we are recruiting like Harsin’s back
